Mad to think isn't it. Well in this case anyway, it would have been bought new for sod all, a few thousand pounds.

I'll be breaking even :pac: 900 turbos were like 8500 pounds new, which I'm guessing was the equivalent of a new 5 series nowadays

Saw a new model Passat in the flesh for the first time this morning

Car looked great (albeit silvers not the best colour for the car imo) - and - to me - the front looks nicer in the flesh then in pics.

Id say leather is almost essential though - the car just looks like its missing that extra something with the cloth interior.

    But alas that's extra euros.....

Can't make up my mind to put an RS spoiler on ST or try and put some spacers on ST spoiler for a 15 degree tilt or so.

    First world hot hatch problems

The 2L in the E28 was savagely underpowered. Good candidate for a transplant though. Can go as big as ya like too as it will be classic in a couple years.

    Any pics?

Yeah the plan would be to drop a 2.8 into it and do a manual conversion if it's not too difficult. Haven't got any pictures at the moment, must grab some. He's done a fair bit of work to it though.

    Why stop at 2.8?

    Colour?

    I figure a 2.8 would be easier to source then a 3.5 :p

    Pretty much this I think

It's in pretty good condition alright, he did a fair whack of work to the engine/body. There's still some rust spots on the body but nothing major, especially for a 27 year old car!

If you're thinking manual conversion have a look at sticking an E39 engine and box in to it. Will be a lot easier to source a V8 that way too. ;)

I was thinking that alright and there's a 4.4 for breaking at the moment.

Only thing is I probably wouldn't be buying for a few months while he decides what to do with it, he needs to make room for his 2.8 V6 Capri which just had all the body redone, now that makes a great noise.

Can anyone tell me where this reg plate came from, any particular website? There is a very light blue haze around each number/letter. Would really like one for my own.

Sorry for the bad pic, phone camera won't focus right.
