I know the Eagles would have done a full medical on him but do you reckon the Dolphins know something regarding his health?

apparently rumours Murray may go for Landry...

Gase and Ajayi don't get on at all I believe. That's probably the main reason for the deal.

Ajayi is on a cheap contract for the next two seasons. What a steal.

    http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/jay-ajayi-16875/

Are the Dolphins really tanking @4-3?
    Taken from this week's MMQB....

The Dolphins have to be one of the most lopsided 4-3 teams of all time. They’ve got a winning record, but have been outscored by 60 points.

    In the three losses:
    • Miami has been outscored 80-6.
    • Miami has had 35 possessions and scored one touchdown and zero field goals.
    • Miami has 202 average yards per game, punted 21 times and thrown five interceptions.

“We’re just inept,” said coach Adam Gase. “I’m pissed. I’m tired of the offense being awful.”

He constantly deals with knee pain which means his practice schedules have to be limited often. He did his ACL in college and there was rumours from Schefter that he had a 'bone on bone' condition (basically arthritis).

Jeese, arthritis at the age of 24? Running back has to be one of the worst positions to play health-wise. Being required to carry a huge deal of weight, and all those repeated collisions at high speed. Not good.

there was talk of Ajayi and Landry being a$$holes around the training ground etc Gase passed it off in an interview as them just being extra competitive! I think this trade shows exactly what Gase thought of it :pac:

Hopefully A new locker room will do him the world of good.

So who's favs for cousins now? Jags, skins I would imagine but I think he has lost some major leverage with this

The Jets are going to have a decent amount of cap space come the off season, I wouldn't be surprised to see them throw an absolute boat load of cash at him

What do they have to do to be taken seriously again, is it head office?

There were stories the other day about the coaches being very unhappy with the front office in terms of their capability and work ethic. I can't link as I'm out and on my phone but Twitter should bring up something.

Hue and co are far from blameless, but the front office do appear to be shambolic.

Is it because the baseball analytics style just doesn’t work in the NFL?

If true, probably up there with their biggest F-ups.

Apparently it was a 2nd and 3rd rounder the Browns were going to give up.

I know they have a mountain of picks, but a 2 and a 3 for McCarron is idiotic.

Kelvin Benjamin to Bills for 3rd and 7th round picks.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a terrible trade??

So Cam is struggling all year and you let his main target leave. I know they get Olsen back soon but surely they would have had a fair chance of going far with a pretty decent wr too in Benjamin.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Lots of fans having meltdowns in the panthers groups I'm in, standard. Bizarre timing but the year he missed Cam was forced to spread the ball to other wideouts and players like Ted Ginn and Jericho Cotchery became decent receivers.

Also worth noting bills GM Brandon Beane was panthers assistant GM (assistant to old GM Gettleman who wanted to renew Kelvin Benjamins contract) before preseason and HC Sean McDermott being the Panthers previous DC it makes sense he's gone to the Bills.

Cam has a tendency to over target KB, even Sunday he ignored McCaffrey three times for simple completions on 3rd down for deep balls (unsuccessful) to Benjamin so might work out better for Cam in the long run

    jesus, that is ridiculous
and i dont know why they'd be celebrating for giving up a 2nd and 3rd for McCarron

Very odd that they have given up on Benjamin like this. He was apparently badly out of shape in pre-season & we probably don't know everything that is going on behind the scenes but it seems a poor decision.

Elliott's application for an injunction on his suspension while he appeals his ban has been denied. He will not play v chiefs on Sunday. Load of balls tbh.

dePodesta isn't applying baseball style analytics to what he is doing with the Browns. The Browns have been a basket case since the team returned to Cleveland - players went there for the money or because nobody else wanted them. dePodesta is attempting to change a culture that is deeply embedded.

His approach is to accumulate draft picks and use them to build the roster - how successful he will be is not going to emerge for three or four years when we will see if the drafts have been successful.

Brief breakdown of what happened re: Browns and Bengals trade yesterday. It confirms the various reports that were doing the rounds:

    http://brownswire.usatoday.com/2017/11/01/browns-choatic-handling-of-failed-a-j-mccarron-trade-revealed/amp/

Wow, I mean why were they even in for him? He's a relatively unproven guy with what looks to be decent potential but not much to go by at pro level... the Browns already have three similar guys in Hogan, Kessler and Kizer.

Even if they had got the trade, it just makes no sense and you have to wonder what this will do to Kizer's confidence which is surely already about 6ft below the ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,645 ✭✭✭phatkev

They were offering a 2nd and a 3rd for McCarron??? Seems to me that the Browns ineptitude helped them dodge a bullet in this case!! I'd be seriously pissed if I was part of the Bengals FO

Its not even funny with the Browns any more. Its just tragic.
