    Yes that's true

I've only sprained my ankle once. I would have taken an amputation then and there. Painful fúcker of a thing to happen. :o

Same here, took a funny fall playing on the astroturf and just remember sweating all over and getting really hot flashes - eventually the ankle ballooned to about the size of a tennis ball and I had to go without a shoe on it for a week. I've a high pain threshold but that kind of stuff can be rotten - one of those weird things where a game of football/soccer on a cold, rainy day can wind up more painful than rugby.

    Lightweights.......!!!!!!!

Feck that, I broke my arm in a game before and didn't fully notice until after. #doubletreblehardmanhard

Only one worse than the ankle off the top of my head was a recurring injury I used to have where the tendon on the back of my leg essentially slipped out of place. Thank f*** that one has passed me by!!

Yeah, but have you ever stepped on an upward facing plug in your bare feet in the dark?

That's a 10/10 on the pain scale, no question.

    Or worse again...

Dennis Pitta TE career over due to hip injury

Next in line to be starting TE Crockett Gilmore lost for the season - torn MCL

Darren Waller TE being a dumbass and got busted for drugs again - suspended for the year

Tavon Young our slot corner out for the year - torn ACL

Starting (well in contention to be starter) running back Kenneth Dixon out for year with a knee injury

Nico Siragusa rookie guard completed a trifecta with a torn ACL, PCL & MCL. I don't fully know about what all that means but I know he won't play in 2017

The average IQ in the NFL went down with center/guard John Urschel retired to concentrate on his doctorate in MIT. Next career is probably in NASA!

And all the media talks about is Kaepernick. The backup QB spot is probably the least of the teams worries right now. Most important thing now is to stop practicing on concrete, well they must be since they get shredded with camp injuries each year

Looks very much like the Ravens owner decided that Kaepernick would not be signed, overruling the GM/HC who were both prepared to bring him in. I hate to say it but it looks like he won't get a job in the NFL again.

Worst thing is they've signed Larry Donnell and he's NOT injured :(

Newsome has denied it and said those reports are false.

If that is true, it's pathetic.

EDIT: Missed Jamarcus Hustle's post re Ozzie Newsome.

The Hall of Fame game is happening tonight, then 4 weeks of preseason, 17 weeks of regular season, 4 weeks of playoffs, ProBowl then Superbowl. Football every week between now and February.

Was hoping to be back in Toronto during the season (only a 3 hour flight from Lambeau, and a sound lad I worked for used to work with used to give me his Bills or CFL Argos season tickets for games he wasn't going to) but visa holdups etc mean it's not going to happen. Will be stashing away for a bunch of visits next season, though.

Yeah, I'm going to the Redskins v 49ers in week 6.

I will be at at least 5 Pats games this coming season. Hoping to go to more also. Helps to have friends with season tickets and spares.

I'll be in Texas for a week to 10 days in September , but not loving any of the NFL games on but will take in some college/HS games for sure.

Cowboys games seem to be very expensive and as of next week I won't be working in Arlington anymore and intend never voluntarily going near the place ever again. So no on that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,333 ✭✭✭brinty

not going to a cowboys game but going to Texas Longhorns v Oklahoma State cowboys on 21st October in Austin
    Can't wait for it.
Going to go to AT&T later that week but game is in SF v 49ers..
Might drop out to our training facility too if my good lady wife will allow it...

Am going to Dallas v Green Bay as am in Dallas that weekend, friend has season tickets otherwise would be a no go. The price of tickets is ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

That's the game unfortunately. I'm going to Seahawks @ Giants with a school friend who now lives in Seattle and we're likely going to spend a stupid amount of cash on tickets. But if you're going all that way you don't want to sit in the Gods on a cold October New Jersey evening.

Ryan Tannehill could be done for year. Suffered knee injury from no contact

This was accurate at 14:08 when you posted it.

It's 3 hours later now, and since then, Larry Donnell has left practise with a broken finger.

Jesus Christ what is going on over there!

The whole Kaep thing is annoying at this point. Some teams will have genuine football reasons as to why they would rather look elsewhere for a QB than taking him and some wont. If a team just doesn't want him then people should respect that decision especially if its football reasons.

But I also don't get why the others don't just take him and work him out put him through camp play him in pre-season and if he truly does suck then they have a reason to say not working out goodbye.
