When is the schedule usually confirmed? I'm in Chicago in November for the Ireland/New Zealand match in Soldier Field and I'm holding onto a sliver of hope that there will be an NFL game on the Thursday or Monday.

End of April but doubt they'll put a game on the same weekend as the rugby. Might be one in green bay though, which is close enough.

You might get a college game on the Saturday maybe, what day is the Ireland game?

Happy April fools? Probably not great thing to tweet about the gm in any case.

While it's great to have Davis back as a player, he seems to be an enormously disruptive personality....and a little dim.

I hope that's a moronic April fools, he surely can't be that stupid.

I found this an interesting read from the excellent MMQB site:

Mike Shanahan - RG3 and Me

I know it's very much common knowledge at this stage, but to be honest it was the first time I had heard Shanahan saying that RG3 basically refused to play a read-option style in his second season, instead wanting to play as a pocket passer.

Anyone ever heard of the "The One Point Safety" for the NFL? It's happened in the NCAA, but NFL?
If the defense gets the ball in the field of play on a conversion attempt, and then a defensive player takes the ball into his own end zone and is tackled, the result will be a one-point safety: The offensive team will get one point. That has never happened before in NFL history.

Happened in College football a few times recently most recent in 2013 or 2014 Oregon game I think it was.

If a kick is blocked by the defense and the defender carries it back into the endzone and the gets tackled the ball is declared dead for a 1 point safety. I argued with an IAFL a few year ago about that rule.

Good to see the ball is no longer dead in the NFL when the defense turns it over. That is the reason it hasn't been seen since 1940. College has had it for a long time now.

Hey guys, would anyone be able to walk me through Atlanta D scheme under Quinn (d line techniques etc). I presume he's made some changes to his system since his Seattle time.?

Ah here, I'm getting too old for this. NFL live on Twitter next season....
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Tuesday morning that Thursday Night Football will be streamed live on Twitter in 2016.

The social-media platform was one of several companies vying for the opportunity to purchase the streaming package for the prime time slate.

The NFL has been searching for a partner after a successful trial run last year when Yahoo! won the right to stream the Jacksonville Jaguars-Buffalo Bills game from London.

The NFL expanded the Thursday night slate this season with CBS and NBC each owning five Thursday night games. The NFL Network will simulcast those 10 games and exclusively broadcast the final eight Thursday and Saturday night contests.

With more and more consumers turning to mobile and streaming devices for their video content, the NFL has vigorously pursued putting its product on an internet platform. With pro football garnering overwhelming popularity among television viewers and advertisers, there is huge potential for companies like Twitter to up their worldwide profile by live-streaming NFL games.

Twitter, which was notorious for crashing when its servers were overloaded. This should be fun.

So would the end result then be the same as an extra point, or since they are classifying it as a safety would the team who just conceded the TD & point have to punt back to the scoring team?

Because that would be hilarious! It's never happened but if the latter is the case, as always, Cleveland will find a way.

Looks like all teams will be playing in the Color Rush unis this year. Be interesting to see what some of them come up with. I quite liked the Titans and the Bills last year...

Patriots one will most likely just be their red throwback if the Bills one is anything to go by.

So D'Brickashaw Ferguson announced his retirement today and even though his play had declined in recent years he will always be one of my favorite players this past decade. Brick will be missed immensely. During his 10 years with the Jets they played 10,708 offensive snaps, Brick played 10,707, now thats durability! Anyone want to take a guess at who filled in at LT for the one snap?

Pretty surprising news, thought he'd play at least another year. Some outstanding servant to the Jets, and he was a quality LT in his time.

Remember reading it was because of a trick play, but I can't for the life of me remember who came in.

Incredible snap count record that is, actually.

Man I reckon he is annoyed at that play now.
