Cape Town – White former farmers should be given 90 days to vacate their farms if the land they occupy has been allocated to a black person to avoid legal battles, the Zimbabwean government has reportedly said.

According to the News Day, Land and Rural Resettlement Minister Douglas Mombeshora said government would not allow contract farming arrangements where the indigenous farm owners would get only 10% of total produce while their white partners grabbed the lion’s share.

Only white farmers specialising in dairy and cattle breeding or those who openly support the ruling Zanu-PF party would be spared, a Daily News report added.

This comes a few days after Vice PresidentEmmerson Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe was set tointensify its land grabs, targeting the country’s remaining white farmers and those with multi farms.

At least 4 000 white commercial farmers were evicted from their farms.

The land seizures were often violent, claiming the lives of several white farmers during clashes with veterans of Zimbabwe's 1970s liberation struggle.

Mugabe made headlines last year when he vowed that whites would never be allowed to own land in Zimbabwe.

Mugabe at the time also warned black Zimbabweans against partnering with whites in agriculture deals.

Zimbabwe was once so rich in agricultural produce that it was dubbed the "bread basket" of Southern Africa, while it is now struggling to feed its own population.[42] About 45 percent of the population is now considered malnourished.

From the bread basket of Africa to a basket case. Western leaders need to cut off all aid and reimpose sanctions. Perhaps European countries could offer the Whites relocation here and a pathway to citizenship? They are clearly not wanted in Zim, so perhaps giving them the option of returning to the mothership could help sort this mess.

You would think the idiot would have learned from the first time he did this.
It would be like letting a city slicker with no knowledge of farming to be given a farm and expect them to know how to operate it.
It failed the first time and this is just more of a failed racist policy.

No, let's not invite them here.

They'd just take our farms, and then we'd end up taking it back off their grandchildren and then we'd look bad.

Also, I don't want to generalise, but they'd all be really, really racist.

Ah now, sure don't you know black people can't be racist.
You can only be a racist if you're white.

They didn't take anyones farm. They were the ones who set them up.

This policy has worked so well in turning Zimbabwe from the bread basket of Southern Africa to the basket case.

White people in difficulty? Not only are they white, they're productive, with useful skills with something to contribute.

The left doesn't care about such people, only jihadists and thugs and then mainly if they're brown.

I can't see this going down very well with the Left. Oh wait ...

There are less than 30k of them left, the farmers are having their lands confiscated and your mans first thought is that they shouldn't be allowed back return to Europe as they "are really, really racist."

    Mad stuff.

This is fascism right or at least apartheid? A government singling out a particular ethnic group and denying them their human rights.

    Ahh...

    Mr Robert Mugabe.
The poster boy of the gutmensch of the 70's/80's with his pal Nkono.

Funny you dont hear the gutmensch anymore about Robbie.

    Not particularly.

Agriculture as a whole in Europe is set up so that people delberately underproduce, propped up by the CAP etc. Last thing we need is more farmers, experienced or no.

    On whose land?

It was uncultivated land. Look, colonialism was horrendous but this no way to right that wrong. Those having their farmland confiscated were not responsible and should not be forced to pay for the sins of their forefathers.

They should learn from the white masters and engage in QE to stimulate the economy.

To be honest I am surprised that there are any white farmers left in Zimbabwe after the 1999 purge.
Mugabe does not give a flying **** what we think of him. His primary concern is keeping power at any cost and lining his own pockets..and those of this closest.
The GDP has soared in the past 3 years ($400 to 900) so perhaps this has emboldened him.

Germany took in 200,000 refugees last year if I remember correctly,

There's a few families from Zimbabwe living in direct provison here while waiting on aslyum claims who were forced to flee after their homes and farms were taken off them.

I know what you mean but they also don't deserve to benefit from the sins of their forefathers either

I wonder would Israel go the same way if there was a reversal of power there?

I'd imagine there'd be a lot of people looking to even the score with the Zionists.

Land retaken is given to ZPF cronies, not farmers, and as such is just theft with knobs on rather than any attempt at redistribution.

There are a lot of people in Ireland who benefit today due to past wrongs. Should we confiscate their land? Of course not. Such an idea is preposterous.
