I noticed a couple of planes circling off the coast not far from Hong Kong. The Garuda in the pic below and a Singapore airlines. Both heading to Shanghai.

    Any reason for this?

Monsoon season in that part of the world. I've experienced them on tankers at sea, would hate to be in the air:eek:

Flight Precision's King Air doing navaid testing this morning over Kintyre & Galloway. Unusually high for a King Air, up at 33,000.

Has a funky livery with a 'ruler' along the fuselage:

Now that's a proper machine. If they lined-up an Il-76 for the Shannon Airshow I'd camp out for the week beforehand. Perhaps a couple of An-12s too...

When TAROM transitioned from the Tupolev jets to 737s the flight crews said the Boeings were aeroplanes but the Tupolevs were flying machines.

Can anyone help with this one? Was sitting on my mates balcony here in Switzerland having a beer when we saw a massive aircraft in the sky. A quick check in the FR24 app confirmed it was an Antonov but not sure which one. It left Zurich airport flying south about 30 mins ago.....

There is a bunch of the An-124's around. It's the bigger sister that there is only one of (The An-225).

I notice the Prague and Ibiza routes are appearing in the Cork airport listings on FR24. I suppose these won't be fixed for the summer?

there a good bit of holding going on at dublin right now, any reasons why?

2 daa vehicles out also, so maybe something wrong with one of the planes that landed in the last 15 minutes?

ILS is going off the air at ORK in 8 minutes for the "foreseeable future" which could mean a few hours or a few days. Some Fog forecast over the next few days, but Im not sure if there is in Cork.

    "foreseeable future"
What NOTAM are you referring to? To me it looks like it going out of service for 3 hours!

I was listening to the Cork ATC. -"foreseeable future" is a quote from the ATC.

Why would they be taking the ILS out of service for a few hours? Maintenance? Testing?
