I want Odell Beckham Jr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxbz3DDQzHU

The whole draft is a crap shoot. You just have to hope whoever you pick in Round 1 doesn't get arrested at some point.

Tell me about it! I picked Adrian Peterson.

Yup, that's the sweet spot as far I'm concerned. First pick is crap - there is rarely a standout option, more like a group of 3-5 players who will go first. But waiting til the end of the second round for your next pick is a killer.

Backham is a ridiculous player. There is a rugby league player in the 9ers squad this season though its not that likely he'll make the final cut. Interesting though.

I have a stupid question for anyone who follows the GAA

Today was the Leinster final but it was Kilkenny and Galway. Wtf? Is the Leinster final not two teams from Leinster?

Because there are no standout teams in Connacht, Galway have been taking part in the Leinster championship for a number of years now.
Galway were walking thru unchallenged back west, at least this way they get a competitive championship

Galway joined Leinster for the hurling a few years ago as there was no real challenge for them in Connacht. If I recall correctly the only game played in Connacht every year was a Galway Roscommon final. If we lost by only 15 points it would be considered a good result for Roscommon

Galway joined the Leinster Championship a few years ago. The Connacht championship was scrapped.

None of the other teams from Connacht compete in the All Ireland, so Galway were put into Leinster to give them some meaningful matches. For decades the Connacht "final" was a match between Galway and Roscommon. It is somewhat similar in Ulster too

None of the Connacht counties compete for Liam McCarthy. They do compete for Nicky Rackard etc and its the same reason Antrim compete in Leinster.
Only difference in Ulster is Down and other counties are more competitive against Antrim than other Connacht counties are against Galway

It's a bit silly that the other All Ireland's, (note to self, stop referring to Sam and Liam as all Ireland's) wrap up so early though.

It is. Shame for the players etc who make those finals that they are not played prior to Liam McCarthy semi finals like they were originally

So. When it is bloody well 35 degrees every day, and you are sick of it, there are a few options

    1) The marytr. "And in other news, a young(ish) man has been found shrivelled to a prune in his appartment, his anglo-irish forebears are erecting a shrine to St Swiwi."

    2) Fill the bath with ice and water. Must be repeated every 15 minutes, because the ice has melted, and the water is now ambient temperature.

    3) Pretend you are from Southern Spain: "oh, 35 degrees, pass me an extra cardigan please darling, it's a bit nippy"

    4) Go as high as you can in the Swiss alps, where the temperature drops below 30.

    Dixence dam

You'll need to remember this for the rugby too btw. The chant...

    Athenrys in Galway
    Galway is in Leinster
    Na-na-na-na
    Na-na-na-na

    ...can come in very handy!

Given what he tweeted about it, 6-8 weeks would seem about right.

After hearing about the investigation, two other boys later came forward to inform police about their own ordeals.

I went to an all boys high school, I'm not sure NZ lads would describe it as an ordeal. I guess that's America for you.

Given she's been sent to jail for 22 years I imagine it's a whole lot more serious than you're suggesting.

    Maybe...

TBH, it would be the same in NZ and in Ireland. Person in position of authority, can't remember what the age of consent is in NZ, 16 vs 18, yes it's strictly not legal. Maybe they were coerced/raped.

Don't want to be un-necessarily flippant.

Still reckon generally there would be plenty of 17 year olds happy to bang their 21 year old teacher. I guess though it shouldn't become a reality.

Ah to be fair Swiwi, you're well aware that the fact she's attractive etc is wildly beside the point.

    Indeed :p
