I lived and trained abroad for a year and a half and when the temperatures got to 37 / 38 it got very hard to get up, let alone train. After around two weeks though the body just gets used to it and actually I found it fantastic to train in once hydration was well managed.

Came back weighing 68.5kg at 6"2 inches!

Was talking to Steve Way once when he weight 66.2 kgs at about 6ft high. His skin was like parchment paper - scary thin!

Have you got back in training yet (or did you ever stop)?

Yeah it's a bit odd looking. You can see your circulatory system not just in your arms but chest also - clear as day. Doesn't look unhealthy though - nothing as bad as Awec.

Stopped training a few years ago, back at it again for Dublin this October. Was going well but a couple of things are getting in the way at the moment so lost a bit of consistency.

Only 8 dollars into Arlington Racecourse in Chicago. Am I missing something? That's ridiculously cheap compared to going to the races in Ireland.

30 degrees every day here since the start of the month. Two hours of touch rugby at midday is a good way to get your Saturday going.

So my phone network don't have an add-on for roaming in the USA.

What should I do? Is there something I can buy, like a travel SIM card?

Move to 3, they have their like-home roaming thing extended to both UK and the States now.

I just came back from DC, received a text from them saying I saved £4,212 thanks to that policy, pretty happy!

I'm on 3. I've just been told they have no like-home deal for the US. I had the like-home deal when I was in London recently.

Oh, well maybe it's only 3 UK who have it!

Do you really need your phone for a week in the States? There should be enough free wifi that you'll be grand.

Well I got it for €2.99 for the UK so if it was something similar for the US...

Vodafone is 3.99 per day for US.

You probably won't need your phone unless you're calling the folks to tell them you got there safely.

I enjoy my holidays because I don't use my phone!! As a camera yes...The odd run on boards and as a clock (when to meet her outside a shop!!).

Forget the phone thomond..leave us for the week then come back here and regale us with stories of hard drinking, loose women and farmer's tans!!
