Majority of people aren't dressed up.

I'm actually considering it this year though, if all your group does it'll be a bit of laugh.

4 pints in the jugs I think.

My advice is definately to dress up. It just makes the night better craic and is breaks the ice with other groups there too.
I'm just hoping it's a full house on the Thursday night for a great atmosphere and the fact I won't be going next year as they have persisted with the q finals on the Thursday.

I've a ninja or bacon rasher(!) outfits still from the darts if anyone wants to buy them?

I might keep the bacon though and just generally wear it on nights out :) Lot of girls very openily admitted to loving bacon while pretending to take a chomp out of me and I didn't even keep slapped when I offered them some extra meat :p

    Will Barney make it?

European Darts Trophy as Max Hopp beats Raymond van Barneveld 6-4!

It's looking doubtful now, but knowing Barney, he'll somehow sneak it by winning a tour event or something.

I bought a ticket for this, but unfortunately I can't make it now. Is there anyway to get a refund does anyone know? I haven't received the ticket yet but it was paid for months ago.

I'm not sure about refund, I know ticketmaster.com offer a resale service(so basically a tout can buy up tikcets early & put them straight back on at whatever markup they want!) so if you bought it through that maybe check that out if you cant get a refund

    Yeah it's www.seatwave.ie. I despise that website!

I didn't even know they had a separate site. I was just referring to main ticketmaster.com page, on there when you are buying tickets and viewing the seating plans you can actually click to see "re-sale" seats(in red) alongside the general sale seats(in blue).

I only seen this in the last week when looking for ufc tickets, its ridiculous and so obviously stacks of tickets bought by touts and onsale the same day as general sale started. I'm just delighted of the other kind boardsie who lent me his pre sale code so I got in early :)

    When is the draw happening.

Going the Tuesday and the wednesday.

It's a shame the qfs are on the same time as roi vs Germany in the soccer

Barney out in 2nd round against the Pieman in last weekend of qualifers but from the chasing players VDV out rd 1,Pipe 2 and Bunting got to 3rd

He'll probably scrap in be skin of his diabetic teeth unless one of the others win tomorrow

Terry Jenkins, on his birthday, beat snakebite in the final :) Nicely done Terry

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

Tpical Barney, down to last day, he's corned like a rat and he comes out biting. Got beat in the final by Klassen.

Just another example of him not giving a f**k until it matters, when he does things like this it makes me dislike him more and more even though I've heard he's a really nice fella.

    Van Gerwen v Brown
    G Anderson v Henderson
    Taylor v Van der Voort
    A Lewis v Van Barneveld
    Chisnall v Wright
    Wade v Suljovic

    O Connor v J Lewis
    M Webster v Bunting

Won't be backing Anderson, form seems at rock bottom. He was put out early yesterday, and beat 6-0 in 1st round today.
Could just be an off weekend but he seems to be a real confidence player

Few big big draws there for round 1. Rvb vs Adrian Lewis, chizzy vs wright and Taylor vs van der voort

Going to the 2x round 2 days with the father and a bit disappointing we won't get to see some of the bigger names due to the draw.

    Always a good event

Even though Klassen won on Sunday I think DOlan's agreat shout at 11/10 against him. Klassen's consistency is....well what consistency seems more like it at times and I think Brendan's steady pace(some may say a tad slow lol) will ruin Jelle

Could b some muck in the quarters with the likes of Smith or Price and Thornton or Pipe set to get through thanks to the draw. 😈

Agree about Pipe, he's good player but I just can't stand how slow he is but the other 3.....WHAT???

Gerwyn Price was in 1 of the most entertaining games of the matchplay against Lewis. Michael Smith in the last few months has gotten to numerous semi finals and won tournaments and Thornton is a premier league proven player and when he's on form is 1 of the most difficult players to beat

True but he annoys the **** out of me rolling his eyes and gurning every time he throws a bad dart...

Well I'm headin up on the Thursday for q finals and was hoping to see the big guns in action. A dream line up for me would have been:
    Power
    MVG
    Barney
    Wright
    Anderson
    Chizzy
    Lewis
    Bunting or Van Der Voort

But now a good few of them are playing each other early on so I won't get to see them

Yeah agreed, he's also sponsored by the scum 'news'paper & supports rangers which annoys me but he's still a great player on his day.

Seriously? *All together now* AWWWHHHHHHHHHHH

Anyone with more than a passing interest (more than just grand prix once a year) will tell you Smith could be one of the very "big guns" in a few years time(not just in physical stature). VDV.....a big gun? Not darts wise, far from it IMO, 1 good game in 5(think thats fair) can not be called a big gun. At least the others you mentioned have been in PL

Well I included VDV for the entertainment value. I know he's not one of the top players

How do you mean entertainment value? A good little walk on song that people sing along to? Aside from that, he's fast and IMO thats about it. What was he up until 2/3 years ago before that walk on song, boring? If memory serves me right he only started using KC & the sunshine band's song after the fans randomly started singing it with his name during the grand prix(or grand slam).

Peter Manley had a sing along song too BUT he played the panto villan on stage aswell, much more entertaining ;)

It's possible for the quarters to be

    MVG vs Smith
    Lewis vs Wright
    Anderson vs Thornton
    Wade vs Taylor

No one can have any complaints if that's the line up although Lewis could have to beat Barney and Bunting to get there.

Yea it wouldn't be too bad I suppose, just think Wade and Thornton are boring so would have preferred Chizzy and Barney instead of them and possibly Bunting.

Never know Barney might come through instead of Lewis !

I told you the players I would like to see on the night and surely we are all entitled to our opinion on that
