Don't think he was under rated at all. While Sven and the punditry muppets kept debating how to play Gerrard and Lampard together, the debate should have been which one to play alongside Scholes.

Don't think they will see a team with potential like that for a few generations, total wasters.

Exactly, just goes to show how criminally underrated he was...

When carrick is fully fit and back in the first team who will be dropped blind or Herrera , hope carricks return sees an upturn of our form , it did the last time he came back earlier in the season

Won't make a difference. Liverpool have already secured 3rd and 4th

Blind should make way for Carrick, Herrera is a totally different player to those two and should be kept in at all costs. Carrick and Blind do very similar jobs but Carrick is slightly better for me.

Van Persie still out. Still too early to say for how long.
Too early for Carrick to start tomorrow. Expect to see him on the bench.

Imo its Shaw that should make way. Blind should go to full back/wing back.

Carrick is an excellent reader of the game and that is what makes him so good imo.

And his agent was right, he left and immediately started playing in midfield for one of Europes top clubs. I would wager that was far better for his development than sitting in the reserves for us waiting for Fergie to judge him humble enough for a sub spot.

for one game... pogba wasn't ready to play in the premier league, but fergie offered him a contract and told him he would guarantee him more game time the following season. He wasn't fully developed. A lot easier to go to Italy and look like a hero in a slower league.

Or just admit Fergie got it wrong.... it happened occasionally.

sadly it seems to have happened a lot in his last few years in assessing younger talent and sorting out problems in midfield

May have won the league but there's no denying we'd have still won it, AND been in a significantly better position last year and this had Pogba been given the game time he wanted and was still at the club. Trying to argue "well we won the league anyway", while handwaving the decline in form in the following years, is crazy...

the few games pogba did play, he was nothing special, looked gangly, weak and did nothing to warrant more game time. Fergie was the master of managing young players, pogba was too eager and wouldn't wait the extra few months. he was 18, who was he to decide if he should be playing or not

Pogba consistently flattered to deceive in the appearances he was given. Ferguson wasn't blinded to the fact the boy had ability, he wasn't going to succumb to demand from a teenager demanding a place in his midfield, regardless of talent.

Pogba was immature, brash and typical teen prodigy egotistical. I've always stood behind his decision to cut him lose and still now.

If we succumbed to player demands we would be a sham club like Barcelona or countless others run by players who think they know better.

All well and good laying the stick in now that Pogba has developed into a wonderful CM(who still drifts around games btw, he's still only a kid and hasn't developed consistency) he didn't grasp the chances he did get.

There is a liter of players who got cut from United for having piss poor attitudes. And while they had great ability and potential, nothing excuses poor attitudes and feelings of "entitlement" at 19 years of age in the game.

I know two lads who were "prodigies" in the United academy in their mid teens. horrible ego and entitlement set in and they got comfortable. They were on a sure path to the first team and to the irish national team, and just totally lost their way. Granted they were both toerags anyway, one now spends his days in Mountjoy on an assault charge while the other one enjoys his days sourcing junk on lower abbey street.

It's long since changed that "ability" was enough to get you into the first team of an elite club, you need to pair that with a strong mental attitude and desire to improve and work.

Maybe I'm on my tod with this one, but I don't shed a tear over Pogba developing into a world class player and thinking "oh Fergie why"..you can see by the way he talks he is handheld by his agent, and his agent is all out talking him up and shoring himself up a big fee. That's a weak player in my book.

Didn't we play Raf in MF against Arsenal and absolutely dismantle them? That was tactically class from Fergie.
