Tbh I don't think Januzaj is going to teach the level some here think he will. Right now he's vastly overrated.

Strange looking at the physio room table and seeing us almost bottom

Now is surely the time to stick with what LVG thinks is his best team and formation and get some consistency going, just hopefully not 352

Not really, he's just another talented young player experiencing something that nearly all young player do at some point. Some call it 2nd season syndrome.

Our current system doesn't suit him. Our manager doesn't trust him as much as Moyes did. These are the real reasons were seeing a drop in performances.
Hes clearly a top prospect and far from "vastly overrated".

If we put him on the market tomorrow half of Europe would be interested.

    Give Januzaj a break.

he is still only a kid.

Players who were 4-5 years older got more time.

    EVENFLOW

He doesn't need to be on the market for anyone to show interest. How many bids for him so far this window?

It's not 2nd season syndrome either, you'd need a 1st good season for that. He only had about a month or two where he looked really good, but most of last season and this season he's been pretty ineffective.

The talk of him last season was silly though. "Best young player in europe" "worlds hottest young property" it was totally out of proportion and typical UK over inflation

januzaj is 19, still only a teenager. He moved to united aged 14/15. Most teenagers that age haven't even been out of their own country!!

he only had his first shift last year. give the chap a break

A loan for Januzaj would be good. He's not getting enough gametime to develop.

I don't like the idea of loaning players out to leagues in other countries. They have to learn a new language so that may make life more difficult for them. And then, if they settle all right, they may get their head turned and realise they'd prefer to play outside of England.

Imo sending them to some lower English club is more likely to work out.

Agree. Would love to see a few more of our players go to lower PL clubs. That way they get gametime and adapt to the league.

It's obvious having a full squad means little to LVG in terms of moving away from 5-3-2 to 4-what-ever anymore.

He just doesn't think our current defenders are good enough to play four at the back.

Don't expect four at the back unless we go a goal behind.

That's a horrendous deal for Cuadrado if we've offered it. You can wave Januzaj goodbye if he's off for eighteen months, something I don't want us to do

The 3 season loan Courtois had with Atletico did him no harm ,came back to Chelsea ready to walk straight into the first team.

On the other hand they'll develop a new skill set and become more adaptable. Pretty good trade off imo. Look at Rossi, Fabio, Zaha and others who have had bad loans in england, there's more money in England so you can just sign someone to replace a player rather than train them.

Although he is deserving of criticism, some of the things being said are over the top. Suppose it's just things balancing thermselves out after last season; He was deserving of praise then but some of the things said were over the top.

Also if those teams come to rely on them and then they're not allowed to play against United... it could be another stealth benefit. :pac:

While talking about seeing out his contract with Real Madrid, and quelling talk of tension between he and Ronaldo, Gareth Bale dropped this earlier...
"I can't imagine myself at Manchester United,"

    Full interview here

Guess that's one we can rule out this window. However, Messi has yet to rule out coming here...

    Where's Future Guy??

I love De Gea but if he was a bargaining tool in getting Bale then i am all for it.

    Not for me.

    Flash over substance.

Bale is anything but flash, he's one of the most direct and powerful forces in the game. He would be among the argument for best in the league if he returned.

    Hardly.

Last season 44 games, 22 goals, 19 assists

This season 28 games, 14 goals, 7 assists.

Of all the words to describe Bale - flashy!?

    Words mean things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,134 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Would soften the blow of De Gea leaving if we got Bale

You have to assume that if he makes it past this season then at some stage Van Gaal will try change to his typical 433, probably in the summer

We're going to need wide players, will likely have to cut two of RVP, Falcao, Rooney and Mata too, I'd go with the former two

Nothing stat. Switch of play is considered as long ball and as per stat it's same as defenders hoofing the ball forward.

And as per defenders, it's telegraphed and cut out most of the time.

Bale flash? Not a hope, one of the best players in the world right now, would love him at United, he is everything we are missing in our attack right now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,199 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

    - Bale signs
    - First game
    - Left wing
    - Gets ball
    - Runs forward
    - Turns back
    - Short pass to full back
    - Stadium explodes

Just reading that there is talks of the bernabeu being renamed in a sponsor deal, curious if this will happen to us in the future? I remember there was talk of it last season

Madrid doing it certainly opens the door.

Btw, it's not a complete renaming just an attachment name.
