Very playable. I was just playing my Famicom this evening on a 9 inch pvm and you really don't notice it being small once you're playing. As long as you're sitting close its grand.

The games look great but they do mess up your eyesight, similar to shining one of the pointy lasers directly at your retina, but its worth it! Especially if you've being playing on a CRT all along :-)

Starting to regret selling my collection, but now I'm making more money, so I'll just rebuild a better one.

I've never sold something that I didn't eventually regret.
That interval between selling and regretting has, steadily, become shorter and shorter.
At this rate I'll be regretting selling on an item on the day before I purchase it!
Of course, the interval between said regret and inevitable re-purchase is also getting shorter, as is the increase in price and my debt levels.
Also, the time period between re-buying and being abused on here for the act is also shrinking.

Only ever sold two games, Kane and Lynch and the Darkness. No regrets.

Great thing about videogame collecting, everything is replaceable! I found once I started looking at it that way, I no longer get that dread of potential regret when selling stuff.

The only items I could never sell would be things I bought new, so my original Megadrive, ps1 etc.

I exclusively drop incredibly expensive rare things down steps and lift shafts. So that might actually be a no :(

Anyone here have any experience ordering from Ali Express?

Going to order my arcade lights, I've never gotten anything over €100 from China, id say the lights will all total up to €250-€300. Should I just expect to get stung my customs or is there a convient avoision technique?

You can ask em to lower the value but that's at their behest and they probably won't.

    You could chance it though.

You're looking at €75 on vat

This might interest Jack and a few other folks on here, Firewatch's soundtrack is being released on vinyl (also comes with download codes for MP3/FLAC versions).

Aliexpress is in general ok. 99% of the time it'll be grand and you won't need to pay customs. But this time of year is a bit iffy due to everyone ordering Christmas gifts so I'd budget for that just incase. Thankfully I've only ever gotten stung once in Ireland. It was a 3DS worth €300+ but seller marked it as €50 and only had to pay €7.50 for duties.

From past experience Chinese sellers generally mark the items low value.

A quick vid I did of the NES Classic Mini running in its 3 video modes(just look at that sh1tty CRT emulation!). It's all in one take, so you can see how fast it loads and resets the interface.
Captured on the framemeister @60fps, so watch in 60fps for the full effect.

Why are so many of these shows so obsessed with the bloody Advent Rising soundtrack? Like with Video Games Live I get it since the composer is involved, but this one?!

I know people that swear by it... I feel it's standard Hollywood fare. Tommy must give the rights out cheaply :)

The absolute cuntiness of adverts users who hop onto a thread JUST to tell the seller they should be asking a higher price.

Next time, please do us all a favour and go play with traffic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭Digital Solitude

The ones who go onto ads to tell people they should be charging less are as bad going by that.

I just see it as people trying to do a good turn and not have someone ripped off

People have all the time in the world to value something before they put it on. If no one got something cheaper on Adverts then the site wouldn't even exist. A lot do it just to spite a sale because they were late to see it or can't collect it etc. A hugely annoying thing.

The Last Guardian is out next week.

*double, triple, quadruple checks to ensure this isn't something I imagined in a fever dream*

Nope. The Last Guardian is out next week.
