Does this mean if Steve originally backed it that he's going to get two of these?

Well I'll need 3 of them at least!
One for me, the GF and the new baba arriving any day now :)

They make them in super small size, yes?

It doesn't say anything about a pre order cut off date that I can see, you were an original backer weren't you?

It was checked, just the one small female human inside. Although it could be a lizard from the scans I've seen :)

    Congrats Steve !

Regarding the oculus I'm not up to speed on it. Is it worth the money ? It looks fairly cool but what's it actually like. Do you need a mad powerful pc for it ?

Well, I'm sure the science forums here can fill in any gaps in your knowledge on the subject, though you obviously had a few things worked out to get this far!

Good luck on your soon to be born 2p, I'm sure you have her booked into the nearest Coder Dojo already!

Mods, hope you dont mind me posting this one here, its just a couple of people on this forum expressed an interest in Vintage Toy etc Collecting.

The recent request i put in for a forum was rejected, which i can understand i guess it probably doesnt warrant its own forum based on interest seen so far.

But it was suggested i setup a thread on Collectibles and Antiques, which ive done. unfortunatly most of my gear is still in boxes until i finish the attic, hopefully soon, but ive put up a few pics i had to hand and of stuff i got recently. If you have an interest in the area sure head over and post a few pics of your collections.

    Thanks - Clicky Linky

I know it's almost the opposite of retro :p

But the price of the Oculus Rift.....

    jim-carrey-liar-liar-oh-come-on-angry-its-enough.gif

    €741 shipped to Ireland!

€700+ roughly all in for anyone here!

Really, oh dear! 300 really was the golden price to get non enthusiasts to buy into it. Even 399.99 might have been ok.

I'm definitely not getting one. I wasn't in the original kickstarter. :( when I decided to commit it had just closed by a day or two.

Didn't actually get an order in until the 1st of March 2013, which was in the 1st wave after the kickstarter.

Fairly ****ing gutted to be honest, especially after seeing the price!

Was totally game to pre-order one today. Dream price was 200-300. Realistic price preference 300-400. Tolerable price would have been the 500 mark. But 700 on a piece of tech with various competitors on the horizon and no sign of a definitive killer app...

Hopefully the revolution will be happy to wait a while :pac:

Unlucky Oisin, christ thats great for Steve thou, congrads on the news at home and twins VRs coming your way :)

Must say I was well impressed with VR effect in Samsung store in Mahon the other day and that aint a patch on on the rift and piece crap samsung VR demo.

Surprised it needs such high specs PC though, graphics card is the sticking point, surely they could have had certain features work for lesson tasking features like movies etc. that and high price point makes me happy to see how it goes and wait and see.

Keith Great Ill post few bits and bobs up to your new thread to help get it off the ground too.

So, I'm just under two weeks away from moving to Japan. Starting to get a bit nervous, but sure, arcades will ease the transition.

I'll put this out there, without any guarantee, but I'll hopefully be coming back on the regular (depending on work schedule in the new job) but if anybody wants me to keep an eye out for anything while I'm there, just let me know. Mailing stuff back probably isn't out of the question either.

    Cheap Rockman on the Famicom,
If you can find them let me know!

I can definitely keep an eye out, I have a couple good spots in Tokyo that are off the beaten track and don't get many tourists, and prices are considerably lower than Akihabara or Nipponbashi. The likes of Hard-Off and Book-Off are places that a lot of tourists don't consider when there.

Last time I was in Hard-Off I got a stack of sealed PS1 and Saturn games for 50 yen a piece, but I say that was luck on my part rather than a regular occurance.

Thats great, you could start a website like FromJapan , be the middle man from a profit.

I was only struggling through Japanese captchas today for Yahoo Auctions. :)

Looking for opinions on something for a friend. I'm not that much into PS1 and a friend has an opportunity to the buy the rare Tombi! sealed. He's just a bit worried about if it's a genuine seal or not, I know there's a good few on here who would be into PS1 so just looking for opinions on it. I know with Tombi! the language sticker has to be on it, which it is, but can be copied I'm sure too because of the price it sells for.

Has the tear off strip, so that's a good sign. Take some pics of the folds though & throw them up

Unfortunately these are the only pics he has received, have told him to ask for closer pics of what you said, waiting to hear back now I think.

Yeah sometimes the folds can be off (top and bottom of the case), and it's one of the points to look at when considering re-sealed stuff.

Just subscribed, via Patreon, to Lord Karnage/ Classic Game Room, as he has shifted from ad based revenue to the Patreon system.
I sent a message wishing him well and asking him not to review any games for a certain awful system and I got this message back...

Thanks Peter. You are the first person ever to send me a Patreon message! Hooray!

I shall review Philips CDi games in your honor :)

    Thank you,

Lol, brilliant. I think he's reinventing CGR isn't he? Undertow is gone now too...

Undetow is finished, and he is bringing back CGR in its third iteration.
He was saying that it's just gotten too expensive and the returns from advertising isn't enough to allow him to put the hours in that the show and channel require.
A tenner a month is small change for access to extended episodes, podcasts and other bits and bobs.
And he keeps the humour in his broadcasts too, reviews everything as well, from new to old releases, happy to invest!
