I think my diet is ok. I could up my fruit and veg intake a bit, I guess. I've lost about a stone since September.

Breakfast is water porridge with raisins and cranberries.

Lunch today was chicken and veg soup with wholegrain rice.

Dinner, I haven't decided yet. Yesterday was an omelette with cheese and Serrano ham. Tonight I might have linguine with a creamy chicken and mushroom sauce.

I once ate an entire multi-pack of Tayto Wheelies, Chickatees and Snax in one evening. Twenty-four packs altogether.

Make of that what you will.

I'd love some Wheelies now! Don't think you can get them in London :(

My diet isn't great tbh but I've been drinking loads of water and green tea in the last six months. We have a "know your numbers" thing at work every six months where the organisers take blood pressure, bmi, body fat ratio & lung capacity readings, and my January ones are better than last June's ones so I'm happy with that!

Every morning I have a glass of hot water with lemon juice when I get up. Awhile later half a grapefruit, then porridge with fruit and nuts, and OJ.
Around 11 or so either tea or coffee , maybe a couple of biscuits.
I struggle with lunch, I find sandwiches boring. Today's lunch was horrendous. Coffee with cream and 2 red velvet buns, followed awhile later with a Pot Noodle, and 2 slices of brown bread and butter. Ooh I love Pot Noodles! In fairness I rarely have one but I enjoy it when I do.
Dinner is from scratch, homemade. Though once or twice a week I'll do a handy dinner like pizza or pasta.
I like a few glasses of wine most weekends , or I won't bother if the humour doesn't take me.
I don't think my diet is too bad, but I definitely need to up the fluid and fruit intake. I'm not overweight, but I need to get out walking as I don't feel fit.

I think mine is pretty good now, lost 2.5 stone in the last 6 months, do a good bit of exercise now too, but diet is key. Eat mostly healthy things with something sweet in the evening. Wouldn't want to be a saint, just mostly try to eat a lot of veg+fruit etc. Once you can prepare it well it doesn't feel like you are even eating healthily, just eating deliciously. I'd say not eating dairy alone drops shed-loads of pounds.

Stopped eating bread almost completely at this stage, for lunch I'd much more enjoy some lentil stew than a roll or sandwich which gives you nothing nutritionally. Trying to not eat things that are processed really but still have treats of course!

I don't smoke and I rarely drink and my diet is pretty good.

I keep sugar to an absolute minimum.
I very rarely eat takeaways, mostly due to the fact that we live way outside the town so we can't get deliveries anyway.
My fridge is always full of food, mainly veg, dairy and meat, I don't really keep a lot in the cupboard.
I don't buy sugary food, like biscuits and chocolate, when doing my shopping so there's no temptation.

Breakfast is usually bacon with Frank's hot sauce and coffee with cream and one sugar
Lunch is soup, either chicken and veg or tomato, whatever one I've made that week
Dinner is usually chicken or fish (I'm allergic to beef and lamb) and a load of veg fried in butter and garlic or chicken wings cooked in the oven in butter and a spicy rub I make up myself.

I drink around 3 litres of water a day and usually have a herbal tea in the evening, sometimes I'll have another coffee after dinner.
I don't really snack but if I'm having something it's usually a handful of mixed nuts or 1 or 2 squares of dark chocolate.

Mine's pretty damn good: home made muesli for breakfast, varied home prepared lunch and dinners.

My tips for anyone struggling with a bad diet:
    1. No takeaways or fizzy drinks
    2. Avoid processed foods whenever possible and just buy fresh meat/veg/fruit in the shops. If there's no junk at home, you won't be tempted.
    3. If you exercise you'll stop craving junk and it doesn't become a struggle any more. Get yourself into a routine and it becomes habit so you don't even think about it
    4. Do 1,2,3 then if you ever feel like something filthy you can go for it

1 and 2 are best, 3 is deffo beneficial but I was once told it was best way to control weight is with your palette not your lungs, mainly because there will be periods in life when exercise is not possible but you will always have to eat

I wouldn't agree with number three. Not for me anyway.

I exercise more than the average 30 something year old woman. It absolutely doesn't stop me craving junk unfortunately!!

I struggled with food for years, then at some point last year I just lost interest in the battle altogether and stopped with the big fat NOs to things I enjoy.

I don't eat as often or as much as most other people these days, I find I need less food because I'm tiny and have a fairly functional approach to it.

Since the New Year I've been making a big effort with green smoothies in the morning, along with some scrambled eggs and a piece of toast.

Then I'll survive on filter coffee and green tea and lots of water throughout the day, and have something with a sh1t tonne of vegetables in the evening. Currently obsessed with roast veggies and sweet potatoes.

I have a sweet tooth and will never say no to cake. I don't trust people who don't like cake. I try not to buy too much crap but work with a bunch of people who eat like toddlers so there's always something lying around the office.

I hate obsessing over food and all the rules and no-nos and calorie-counting and guilt that goes with that. It makes me really sad sometimes to hear my mates harp on about it. Listen to your body and give it what it wants. That's the only thing that has ever worked for me and helped me to settle at an optimum weight and state of health.

Have an Italian girlfriend so my diet is pretty good.....loads of salads, garden vegetables, fish, olive oil, garlic, fruit smoothies, etc

Unfortunately it's all usually washed down with tankards of Chianti and sometimes the fruit smoothies have shots of vodka in them :pac:

It was a good week up until weekend. All week I had good enough food and proper amountsof it. Even did my cardio all 5 days.
Then weekend came in. Me and lads had an Russian sauna on Saturday night with staying in. So savage night of drink, smoke and food and sauna. Next day, when I finally got home, I went for a big feck off kebab. It was lovely, but today my stomach and "hole" are in bits... I am already on throne 3 times since I started work at 6:00... I just can't handle greasy kebabs as I used too...

It's always the fault of the kebab, isn't it?

It's either a feast or a famine with me. I can have a healthy enough day and then ruin it the next with a huge bar of chocolate. I don't drink but I do smoke.

Here's a little tip for you that i learned from my very health conscious american ex-boyfriend. Buy the popcorn kernels and pop them yourself, it's super easy to do. It takes about 3-4 mins and all you need is a pot and a tablespoon of oil.

You can then add any flavour you want. I used to love lime and chili. Just throw it in the pot after it's finished popping and give it a shake (the easiest is salt).

That microwave popcorn is really really really bad for you.

It's also much cheaper to pop your own!!

Used to get the kernels years ago, till I got lazy and got the microwavable kind. May go back to the kernels if it's as bad as you say, normally I don't really microwave anything except that...my only weakness

Open a pack of the microwavey stuff before you pop and you'll see why it's yocky.

    Today I had cake :)

My drinking is terrible. I hate fruit but my New Years Resolution was to start eating for health so I'm eating three pieces of fruit and 5/6 portions of veg most days.

I have some in the kitchen, I'm afraid to check, considering how much I've consumed over the last 5 or 6 years when I stopped getting kernels :S

Today I had: 3 rashers with 3 cups of coffee; for dinner I made some beef chili which was only ok, which I had with 3 spuds. In between I had about 10 chocolate roses chocolates. In between that I think I might have had 5 or 6 more small cups of coffee. And I also ate a plain scone with butter while I was cooking the chili and spuds. I'm kind of hungry again now but I'm hoping to stave off that until later when I might make a sandwich. We'll see. Maybe I might reheat the leftover chili, but really I want to keep on to that until tomorrow or the next day? Depends on how hungry I get later. But there's still a scone left and also there's some of the chocs left too. I might just make some toast and use the new Foilann orange marmalade I bought today, I'll decide later.

Not too bad at the moment. My partner is obsessed with Southern Vietnamese food at the moment, so she tends to have a meal influenced by the region served up most evenings when I get home. It's light, fresh and healthy. You can really see the French influence in modern Vietnamese recipes.

Was back in Ireland for the Christmas. Irish food tends to be hearty and tasty, but overly stodgy. The portion sizes as well! It's like eating in a German kneipe. Less food and higher quality has to be the mantra. I even told my Mother that she didn't have to put on 20 potatoes for the five of us even though we all enjoy the humble spud. Irish seafood is excellent though. You just don't get that quality and range in Germany. The Irish need to learn that the finest food they can eat is being caught off their coast.

I cook a lot, so not terrible I don't think. Have takeaway once a week as a treat. Am exercising once or twice a week, need to increase that.

A guy I used to work with used to slice blocks of butter and eat slices like cheese, so if that's my benchmark I'm doing great.
