Juventud. Sounds like a cross between juventus and man united.

Been awhile since there was a wrestling reference in the thread.

Hendersons best positions are as a rcm in a three man midfield or as an am in a 4231 imo. Hes hardly been used in those positions this season which is negatively impacting his form. Having said that, i can understand the logic of playing him as a wing back in a 532. He has the engine for it, hes decent in attack and solid enough defensively. Hes the best option for that position at the moment.

We'll win tonight lads. Will all come together for tonight, they are a championship club after all.

    Famous last words!

If we lose tonight, I think me and Brendan need to talk....

I'd be interested to know if those who want rid of Johnson would prefer Henderson in RWB for the interim?

Whats the craic with Manquillo? When is Flanno back?

Looking forward to Wisdom back - I wonder should he be recalled in January? I dont knkw if Rodgers likes him but he can pkay RB or CB and has done ok on loan from what ive seen of him.

Hope these rumours of a Qatari takeover of Spurs are untrue. Another megabucks club in the mix would pretty much finish any chances of us ever getting top 4.

The own PSG so even if Spurs did get to the CL they can't have both their teams in it.

They will pick PSG over Spurs everytime to play in the CL.

    Why not?
Is there a UEFA rule stating that an owner can only have 1 club in a competition? ??

    Yes
The UEFA Rules were brought in following a high profile case in 2000 and were first established for the 2000/01 season. The rule prohibits two football clubs in which a person or a company has an interest from being admitted into the same UEFA club competition.

What is meant as having an interest in another club?

Having an interest in another football club has been defined as meaning the following:

The majority of the shareholders’ voting rights in another club in the same UEFA club competition

The right to appoint or remove a majority of the directors in another club in the same UEFA club competition

The majority of the shareholders’ voting rights (through a shareholders’ agreement) in another club in the same UEFA club competition

Following the initial implementation of these rules the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled fully on the UEFA rules stating that any shareholding of 50.1% or more would potentially breach the UEFA rules at point 1 above. Furthermore the CAS also added on a further situation which should fall within the UEFA rules – a person or a company would also be seen to fall foul of the UEFA rules when they can exercise a decisive influence over the decision making of another club.

It would be strange state of affairs to be forceably an EL level club with such owners. You'd have to suspect they'd end up as a glorified feeder club

Hendo as a wing back is daft as a brush, Manquillo should be the de-fault right back frrom here on.

He'd be great for the position if it only involved running up and down the touchline for 90 minutes...it's a shame he can't tackle and has a poor final ball.

Still sounds a thousand times better than Glen "I'll run with the ball and cross i....oh no I've lost it and I'm way out of position. **** we've just conceded. Not my fault." Johnson.

Sakho is currently suffering from transfercommitteeitis. Unknown return date, not sure why it's not mentioned on Physioroom.

Sakho back on the bench we can now officially blame him for the defensive problems again.

Just read this whilst looking at the manager's transfer spending.

Brendan Rodgers bought 25 players for £212,380,000

    Frightening.

Out of that I think the only unqualified success has been Sturridge, 12m.

Plenty of others which we hope might improve, but for now only Sturridge.

That has to be killing the owners.

Nice to see markovic starting I guess? The rest of the team...not so much

...and to follow on, here's my take on those players who right now would have to be in the "questionanble" bracket based on the impact they have made to date. Leaving Joe Allen out of it, he's been better than these!

I give to you 111m GBP worth of not so great, so far..I've left out Emre Can as I think he has showed some potential and he can't get a game!

    Fabio Borini
    £10,400,000
    Luis Alberto
    £6,800,000
    Iago Aspas
    £7,000,000
    Simon Mignolet
    £9,000,000
    Mamadou Sakho
    £15,000,000
    Tiago Ilori
    £7,000,000
    Lazar Markovic
    £19,800,000
    Dejan Lovren
    £20,000,000
    Mario Balotelli
    £16,000,000

Committee or manager, these are shockingly bad decisions.

Team news for the U21's against Norwich 7 pm KO

Ward (GK), Randall, Maguire, Cleary, Jones (C), Stewart, McLaughlin, Brannagan, Dunn, Pelosi, Smith.

Subs: Tricket-Smith, Fulton, Kent, O'Hanlon, Ojo.

That must be Jack Dunns first start in some time.

Lovren starting again whilst Sakho is left on the bench disgraceful. On the plus side nice to see Markovic given a run

So you want to throw a player, who was out injured for months, straight back into action without even breaking him in gently over 2-3 games?
