Men against boys stuff. Irish lads seem to be forgetting they can bundle them over the line if they want.

Just about to say the same thing "Men against boys". Could be a hiding here unless the Irish settle. Support play is dire so far with Irish players reduced to handpassing to the Aussies

Great score. Aussies are flying. First to everything.

What rules are new to this series does anyone know?

Jaysus, watching the Aussies is like watching Kerry.

    Aussies look quicker and fitter.

Picking off their points with surprising accuracy too.

Obviously taking it seriously this year.

well this is pretty one-sided so far. Probably good for the future of the series though

    This is gonna be embarrassing

Ball has to pass the 45 from the kickout is one anyway

Its like the ball is an alien to our lads

Why are we playing long balls into a non existent forward line. Its the Aussies playing like a GAA team in moving the ball well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭TimRiggins

You'd swear it was us that plays with the oval ball. 1 wide after 17 minutes is embarrasing stuff

Use Hola for Chrome, set it to Ireland and watch it on the TG4 website.

This is going pretty much as I expected. That Aussie team has real quality in it, and quality that suits the game. Stevie J is a pure quality player, and it shows in a game like this

Early days but there might be a pasting on the cards unless Australia get complacent.

As poor a quarter of this sport from the Irish as I have ever seen. Stuck to the ground.

    Whats the score?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,750 ✭✭✭iDave

First GAA style point. Not sure he marked it properly

22-4 and we are flattered. Aussies with 2 or 3 really good goal chances.

Being forced to kick over the 45 is a total disaster for us. Our kicking has been embarrassing.

Well he dropped it and he took a couple of steps from the mark so he was doubly lucky. :P

Rubbish from us but nice to see the Aussies taking it serious. Have a quality side out and it shows.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,813 ✭✭✭chrysagon

some lovely kicking with a round ball from the Aussies, we aint putting them under any pressure, not challenging 50/50 balls, no go, very poor from Ireland..

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,750 ✭✭✭iDave

Time to split Australia in 2 lads

Split in 2 they'd still be bigger than our lads!

Charity over from a v dodgy mark and one behind our only scores in the first quarter. V poor indeed

The Irish lads are panicking with ball in hand. Conor McManus hit a shocking wide there because he didn't feel like he had any time to steady himself. The Aussies are right in on top of them. Quicker, stronger and fitter. Unless their high intensity tires them out I'd worry that this could be embarrassing.

They got a bit more possession towards the end of that first period, we'll know a lot more in 20 mins time.
