You're better off ringing them. Despite their reputation, they're actually pretty decent to deal with.

Sent them an email a few mins ago with my phone number and email address. I guess I'll have an answer soon enough.

New head unit is in a car. Awesome! Finally can put my tunes on usb sticks and not burning ancient cd-r with 12 songs...

Had to go to town for some stuff. Just when I wanted to put some money to get parking ticket an old lady came over and gave me her ticket with 1h left on it. Sweet! I always do that myself, if no one around I even leave ticket in machine for someone else. This time I got a free ticket! Karma and all! :D

Im in credit with them since last owner. Ka ching! Had a panic one day after forgetting to pay and moving house but not updating address. Thought I'd have to take out a mortgage but it turns out I have several more free trips I can make.

It has that too, but I find it so much easier just to pop in USB key and thats it. Then if needed, I iwll take it out and pop it in to my pc to update list.

I must see if I can retrofit that, calling BMStuff!

A2dp can be done on an e39 with a DiCE kit or a few other cd changer replacement providers

I'd never go aux-in or bluetooth way. Have my favourite tunes on usb stick, approximately 50 Gbytes of data - would take more than a year to hear all of them.

kind of a novice question from someone who would consider themselves a regular :o

my car is due it's NCT on November 26th, they just posted me a letter for the 11th January.

does this leave me in a position to pull the "free test if it's not within 28 days" stunt.

i don't want a free test, i just want to NCT the car before the old one expires. or at least this side of Christmas.

I called NCT centre today and I want to try to get NCT before Januaty first to get 2 year slip. No dates for December, but they are putting me on the list if something shows up. :(

Check the NCT website after 23:30 each night and it shouldn't take too long to see some slots that have been freed up.

I thought that was the best option as well until I started using the tablet.

It's still the best option as I have no tablet. Don't need one. :p

Eflow emailed me back, they were able to check that I did indeed become the owner on the 4th so they have removed all the penalties from the previous months and have told me that the fines have now been sent by letter to the previous owner :) result :)

I use USB too, on my JVC up and down jump folders so its easy enough to find something I like without taking my eye off the road.

Did I see your car on the rathbeale road coming out of jcs earlier?

My music is all over the place so I still haven't found a very easy way of switching songs while driving. :P

    I use TXFM.
I hate listening to albums or play lists in the car, much prefer the radio.

At the minute in using one if them Belkin fm transmitters that plugs in to the 12v outlet and has a aux in. It's actually not too bad really you do have to search for a clear station the odd time but by pressing a button it does it itself.

I think I might get one of these it plugs into the back of the rcd300 radio and tricks it into thinking its a cd changer when really it's an aux in. I'm not too push as the minute as the fm transmitter is not that bad I have an Ipod in the glove box and I just plug that in.

That's why I do a list on my usb that I really love, then shuffle and I am sorted. Why would anyone pit music I'm to their car that they don't want to listen too! :)

I used to use a fm transmitter that connected into the arial port on back of radio, I had it for years I got it back in 2003 and it was pretty expensive at the time too. Now I have a AUX port on front of JVC stereo.

Not good. But it would be worse if it was a full time job and you depended on it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,606 ✭✭✭toastedpickles

Well i kinda did depend on it, I've no money now :P
