and while i'm here, is there anything i should be aware of while driving without a back box for a day. it sheared off yesterday (UK import car, 15 year old pipe, it just had enough) and the motor factors wont have a new one until tomorrow afternoon. i just bolted off the remaining bits and pieces and am driving with nothing after the mid section.

i'm depending on the car so i have to drive it. is there any concern to driving without it (safety/ fire etc)? aside from sounding like ken block and melting the ice caps.

Once it's removed and the remainder is mounted safely (ie not just hanging off the manifold ) then it would be graaand IMO.
Try not to get stopped by AGS though as they won't like it!

Small question, but is there anywhere that isn't a Mazda dealer that stocks FL22?

That I can just walk in.... will take a while for the order to arrive.

It's not critical anyway. Just something of a personal curiosity.

In my buddies garage I sow a 06' Subaru Legacy with 2.5 non turbo boxer engine. I just had to sit in it!
I have to say it was amazing car to sit down in, at least from drivers view. Seats comfortable, arm rest is perfect, inside looks really modern, driving position comfortable etc.
He had to bring the car to his house for client to pick it up, so I called shotgun. Well, thats where I got disappointed. The ride quality was arse. I drove same path with my WRX and I could bet my balls that ride quality and noise level were almost the same. I expected so much better out of it. :(

Lovely looking car, lovely to sit down in, but still a rough subaru in the end of the day.

Bloody snow! Started in D18 around 4pm so I figured I'd leave the office early.... unfortunately everyone else in the Industrial Estate had the same idea!

Still, got out and to my own estate without any incident - roads were covered though. The fun started coming down the hill that runs from the entrance to my turn. Merc struggling trying to get up it, but far more pressing was the traction control warnings and sliding as I tried to get over the ramps. Eventful to say the least and narrowly avoided sliding into an insurance claim, but got there unscathed in the end!

Think I'll work from home tomorrow! Be careful though guys.. anything that's already fallen will probably start to freeze now!

Yeah I wanted a stock look to it, everything else sticks out like a sore thumb. Eonon, the crowd that do this do a rake of E46 OEM looking units too.

This was at the lower end of the market for OEM Navs but has everything bar Saorview and a reverse camera which you can just add the modules later for them.

Will give a try fitting it tomorrow, the manual has no instructions :pac:

The dream of snow days: endless 4 wheel drifting in quiet car parks, monstering your way up isolated hills.

The reality of snow days in limerick: no real snow or slush on the roads. Hemmed in on all sides by dawdleballs and nervous ninnies. Commute doubled.

Ah well back out later to make up for it maybe

Brought the focus to the dealer today. Needs a, you guessed it, new ps pump and the fluid wasn't changed in ages! Ball joint needed in the front too, as is the lock in one of the passenger doors. Now to get them fixed...

The work you listed that needs doing on the other thread coupled with the motor tax means it's got a very limited market. If you get anything around the 4-500 mark take it.

price sounds about fair for a ZS needing work.

    nice looking car though.

Beginning to suspect I've had a minor vacuum leak since I did the ignition coils on my car. It would explain a great many little things. A slight crack in a hose somewhere, because it idles very rich.

On the other hand, I have planned to take it for a good long run down to Galway saturday morning for an event that's on in NUIG. Regrettably, I can't stay the night, but it promises to be a laugh. See if I can open the taps after the second toll booth and decarbonise the rotors for a bit. Provided the weather holds.

I'm slowly beginning to realise another thing, and I'm wondering if it's the same for other people. I've allowed far too much of my own self-esteem to get wrapped up into this car. There're times when I feel like it's the only thing I've achieved in life, even if it is, by all accounts, not tat remarkable. But it seems that I've got this cognate that, if people like the car, they also must vicariously somehow like me and think I'm a good person for buying it..... and I'm not so sure that's healthy. It doesn't help that most people do seem to genuinely like the thing when they sit in it. I've never met anyone who hated it.

In truth, it's the only small space in this world that's truly mine.

It's probably just the drink making me talk ****e out me hole.
