As an American who spent 20 years in this sport one thing I've learned about ratings is to let the people charged with that task sort it out for them self's.

You cant honestly believe that because somebody has the power to do something that they are automatically correct?

Sports or otherwise, that attitude to anything is both nieve and 100% incorrect

And yet he's still stuck at 85,000. and his cover mares have drooped in number since his first year at stud. that sound to me like the breeders are not all that impressed.
Frankel's fee for southern hemisphere breeders has dropped from 110k in 2013 to 100k in 2014.

Not bad given that he covered only 21 last year and will likely do the same number again.

The southern hemisphere service fee for Frankel will be £100,000 for the coming season, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. He stood the 2014 northern hemisphere season for £125,000. The son of Galileo covered a limited book of 21 mares to southern hemisphere time at Banstead Manor last year, including John Singleton's More Joyous and More Strawberries. The owner will send triple Gr1 winner Samantha Miss and Zabeel mare Deedra this year. Last year Frankel covered southern hemisphere-time mares for a fee of £110,000, with Juddmonte making available a maximum amount of £10,000 towards the owners' costs. Juddmonte confirmed that champion UK sires Dansili and Oasis Dream will also again be covering limited books this autumn.

Will have to look into the details, but the winner Ivanhowe could be very smart.

That guy who's always banging on about systems ( is it Paul Haigh? ) gave him a huge shout over his speed figures for some race or other.
