    I don't think there's any other mids between £8.0-10.5 worth considering really?

    There's Mata or Di Maria but well... I think it's best to ignore them for a while before things get somewhat settled there. Realistically, Sterling is the only one that jumps to mind. Pool have a lot of options in that position but I reckon he'll get good gametime and is a quality player. I'm strongly considering him or Lamela for Eriksen myself as I think they'll be more likely to get in scoring positions regularly (whereas I think Eriksen is mostly just good due to dead ball situations). De Jong could start playing well for Newcastle but it isn't a gamble i'm too interested in myself, having seen very little of them and with Newcastle not being a team I have the utmost confidence in.
    Silva is definitely a good shout.

    My eye is very firmly on Lamela. I think the new signings will limit Sterling's impact.

    I have 2 FT's and will take an 8 point hit. Right now I'm thinking of doing.

    Fletcher -> Naismith
    Dummett -> Wisdom
    Rooney -> Aguero
    Mata -> Silva/Sterling/Lamela

    Is Dummett to Wisdom really worth 4 points to you?

    pulled the WC trigger.

    I had to preserve value, and I also need to sort out teething problems.

    I expect Rooney, Terry and Dzeko to drop, with at least Ivan and Costa rising.

    Yeah, that's one I may not do.

    Yeah I forgot Sterling actually I'd probably go for him. They have 7 GWs of good fixtures coming up, nice thing about the mids in this price bracket is they are easily interchanged. Worried about not having City players but they do have 2 tough GWs so can start getting them in after that. Yeah I don't trust De Jong or Lamela, too many good mids at that price to bother taking a risk on either of those IMO. If Lamela does do well tomorrow though it will be hard to look passed him because he seems to be doing the business this year for whatever reason!

    I'm with you on City players. I'd like to get some coverage for them soon, (Aguerro, if fit, is a no brainer) but don't see the need to rush into it.

    Lamela is a good player. A lot of people here had high hopes for him at the start of last season but it jus didn't work out for him, largely due to personal reasons apparently. I think he could do the same role as Lallana for Pochettino but has more potential. He plays in that position you want your midfielders playing, I'd love if Eriksen could play there instead! I guess he doesn't have the mobility.

    Terry to Ivanovic is something I will definitely be considering. Terry is obviously a cheaper and perhaps more secure way into the Chelsea defence but if Ivanovic can continue to get as much attacking returns then the extra money will be worth it.

    surely no point in rushing a transfer with the international break!?

    2 F/T went Rooney->Naismith and Bruce->Ivanovic hit the button now coz waiting til the int'l break is over could be the difference of 0.5M, fingers crossed no one picks up injuries

    Price rises are the problem.

    Sorely tempted by the wildcard now. Have to look a bit closer at it as don't need to gut my team, however the potential rises and falls (sell Rooney and get him back for qpr for 0.2 less) opportunities are tempting.

    If I don't I'll probably need a hit again and while last week's worked out well this week's didn't.

    Same, but I think I'll hold it and just risk ManU being as crap as they have been. Went without City cover today and it worked out. Will do Mata to Arfield and Rooney to Studge tomorrow or Monday unless something drastic happens in the Sunday matches.

    Thing is it's risky doing two early transfers in an international week as you could end up snookered by injuries etc and end up wildcarding anyway on a Thursday night missing the team value benefits...

    That's what has me tempted. If the price rises aren't as volatile though then it will be hard to bank that many over the international break.

    Very hard to predict how they'll go over the long Gameweek. Last year I remember the first international break was quite quiet, with few transfers till after the middle of the second week.

    but the likes of Ivanovic, Naismith, Dyer and Schneiderlin may be busy this year, while the potential of serious drops to United players as people give up on them could see a half a million turnaround...

    What time do price changes happen? Is it tonight or the end of the gameweek?

    Every night between 2am and 3am

    City have Chelsea, Munich and Arsenal after the international break. There'll probably be some rotation between Dzeko/Jovetic with those fixtures for anyone that owns them. Gonna get 2 city attackers once those games are over with though i reckon

    What's the threshold for a price fall?

    I'm going to do Mata to either Lamela, Fabregas (2 transfers) or Sterling. Would rather wait until after the Liverpool/Spurs game tomorrow at a minimum.

    I don't think he'll fall tonight (don't blame me if he does but I really don't think he will fall). Tomorrow night, maybe, but probably not tonight. I'd hold on to it for another night if I was you.

    Going to drop all the United players I loaded up on in my mistaken belief that they could handle such titans as Sunderland and Burnley

    Rooney > Aguero right now, would like to hold off on it till after the international break but Aguero looks like he's going up tonight

    Mata > Sterling after the break

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,031 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

    Who do you think will drop/rise tonight if anyone.

    I'm very tempted to hit wild card, as there is just a few too many underperforming players in my team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,009 ✭✭✭kronsington

    I will probably wait until the break is over but I am now seriously considering ditching Rooney for Aguero... I can afford this switch if Rooney doesn't drop dramatically..

    Just an additional thought to this. I have an idea of who I want to bring in when i decide to use the WC.. But that was on the proviso of hanging on to Rooney and upgrading my defence with the likes of Mangala, Courtois and maybe one or two 5m defs... Now, that's im thinking of replacing Rooney with Sergio, I'll have about .5/.8 to upgrade my current defence which is..

    Krul, Myhill
    Caulker, Lovren, azpilicueta, Bruce, chambers.

    Any thoughts on improving this defence? I want to get the jump on my arch rivals before all our team are identical

    I think if I wildcarded I'd only be making 5-6 changes to my squad. Don't think it's worth it, prepared to take another hit to preserve team value if necessary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

    Not really thinking about using the auld WC just yet. Questions hang over Mata and Jovetic but happy with everyone else to a certain extent. Will try and keep my FPL thinking to a minimum these 2 weeks as by the time GW4 commences I'll hopefully have the thesis handed up and out of my life. Makes the decision to hold it easier I think, price rises and falls be damned.

    But if you WC, you will have two weeks of unlimited changes. It is like pre-season. Experiment over and over once the transfer window opens. For the most part, leave the players trending higher alone so that you don't lose points.

    Wildcard being activated.

    Possibilities at this point are...

    Rooney to Costa
    Fletcher to Naismith
    Mannone to Guzan
    Isgrove to ?????
    Few more to follow

    Would leave me with no Utd cover, but transfers would leave me with 0.2-0.3 spare with a further 1.0 in the bank, so may look to bringing one into the midfeild.

    Thoughts?

    This is not an attraction..... ;)
