    Age wouldn't concern me half as much as maturity. Some people just get older, they don't actually grow up. A teenager acting like a teenager is fine. It's expected. A man of 30+ acting like one would give me an eye twitch. And I don't mean a fella having a bit of a mess and a laugh. That's fine. I'm talking more about a grown man who can't or refuses to act like an adult.

    It's more important for each person to be on the same page with what they want out of life, I think.

    I would never go solely by age....
    the first fella I was with was 18 and I was 12!!..... (he didnt know;) ) have been with both older and younger since and if youre attracted and legal....what else matters!?

    It's gas how everyone has so many different opinions on this that it really makes the issue of age gaps all relative.

    I'd never ever go for anyone younger, and I'd generally wouldn't diverge away from someone around 5 years older.

    So there's no right or wrong way to do things.

    When I was 25, I was interested in an 18 year old girl. She knew that, I thought feelings were mutual, we chatted a lot, never dated or anything. But, the whole thing was a disaster. I was stupid to have got involved in the first place. Anyway, it turns out she bats for the same team. Maybe she did all along. Who knows? I know I did ask around as to whether it was ok for a (then) 25 year old to be interested in an 18 year old or to date someone of that age. Most replies were positive.

    The whole situation, though, put me off going for someone several years younger. Five years younger would be as low as I'd go (I'm 28 now), but could go another year younger. I was interested in someone five and a half years my junior a couple of years back. Again, it didn't work out or go anywhere. It too was a bit of a disaster. I wouldn't date a girl that's too much older than me. I think 30 is the maximum I'd go.

    I have a pair of new rocks that I got in 1996
    I got married in them in 2010 they were 14
    They are now 18 it seems at some point when the couple are being tested then that age gap will have relevance

    Mabey if both were totally into classical music/ physics / history to the detriment of political opinion or popular culture it would work but I believe 10 years is pushing the limits
