The traditional Irish death-insincerity is really annoying me here.

This horrible, uncompromising man whose was the worst example of a community leader because he seemed to revel in the continuance of the Troubles is now being portrayed as merely a "firebrand" along with the solemn eulogising.

a death combined with Irish history.......Joe will be sitting a little higher in his seat today with excitement

I would have been hoping that he arrives at the pearly gates only to find that the Catholics were right.. But tbh, I'd say his elevator will be going down..

Saint Peter Says NOOOOOOOOOO Ian, down you go, maybe hell will be call Southern Hell too.

    It's not uniquely Irish

Paisley was probably the biggest recruiter the IRA ever had, every time at the height of his 'speeches' he was actually encouraging people into the arms of the IRA.

Is anyone going to Put " Ian " memorabilia up for auction , eg. 'Ulster says no ' posters etc. , and get a load of aggrieved nordies on complaining that it should not be for sale .

Anyone remember the time he was interviewed on Saturday night live on RTE by his Daughter Rhonda.....most surreal piece of TV I have ever seen.

Ask yourself this question Joe... Would there have been any conflict in the north at all without people like Ian Paisley.. never mind the subsequent peace process..

After that speech this show should be moved on, nothing good can come of this line of questioning by duffy as he just not up to the level of journalism required.

    I thought about that earlier

A hero's welcome on his arrival onto the set was seriously out of place!

Fair play to this guy. Someone on the ground telling it like it is rather than simply pretending to be sad because a person died and that's what you are "supposed" to do.

Listening to that other caller, you'd be forgiven for thinking Republicans and the IRA never existed.
