    Couple of bits arrived today.

A weird little Pachinko game for PC Engine. I really only wanted it for the controller :)
    WpjHqOd.jpg

A couple of game soundtracks(wanted the Starblade one for ages), a making of DVD and Super Darius.
    ig26Qzc.jpg

Star Trek Original Series LaserDisc set(the included book is very nice).
    2Lci8Dm.jpg

Satisfying :) (even if I don't agree with the episode order).

Mad looking controller, how does it work?

The dpad and face buttons are the same as a standard controller. But the weird bit in the middle is a spring loaded grip thing you can twist a bit. Its how you play a real Pachinko machine.

3:34 in the below vid shows it.

What was that mad Saturn game you started a craze with a few years ago Steve? This could be another one....

If you're talking about The Tower that wasn't me. Think that was the artist formally known as Pyongyang :)

Nice Laserdiscs, i finally got a player recently and i have one Matt Damon movie disc.

Need to get a job lot, teh player itself sounds like a truck, need to get something underneath it to quieten it.
    Maybe it needs a service.

Are those sealed copies worth more than bit coin yet?

I like to think there's a man in Japan still wondering why he shipped a load of copies of an unknown Saturn game to Ireland for a brief period 4-5 years ago. :pac:

I was about to buy one but, because I don't own a CD drive for the TG16 I can't play it!
My Turbo Everdrive doesn't support such files either.
    Bugger...

    Now to buy a TG16 Duo... sh1te...

edit: Turns out there is a Hu-card version of the same game, so I have put a low-ball bid on one of the controllers on ebay.
    A&R pachinko madness!

    New doodad this morning,
My new custom Atari 2600 stick, and XL/XE stick by association!

It's very nice, the maker normally builds Veccy controllers, both with a stick or a special Asteroids only controller.
This time he made this one for me, generating the overlay custom for this too.
The first fire button is the standard Atari type, the second is wired into the "up" trigger, which is often used in platformers for jump.
I can't wait to get it home to try it out this evening!

Only a matter of time now before one of us gets a real Pachinko machine :D

Maybe a star wars themed one :)
    r2-d2-pachinko-cabinet.jpg

    Edit:
At least one machine wont be quite as shocking to the eardrums as a full parlour. I went into a few Pachinko parlours over the years and trips to Japan. Never liked to stay more than a few mins due to the mental sound volume.

This guys video is pretty much my experience. Outside no sound, go through door 1, light gaming sounds, go through door 2, Foooooook!!!!

Thought I should have the first console I ever owned (for better/worse)...but then found out there was a version of the Jr. made in Ireland.

    Atari 2600 Jr Black

    ...
...so then I bought the first console I owned, came with 2 boxed games which is nice. Stargate aka Defender II and Space Invaders. Space Invaders is shocken :)
Beyond the metal strip across the top of the console, can you spot the difference between the Irish made and the generic Hong Kong console?

Those pachinko machines must be a bitch to maintain. I mean pinball is bad but there's so many balls flying about in a pachinko machine that it would make a gay p0rn movie blush.

I almost bought a Metal Slug pachinko machine a few years back. Imagine the noise of one of them in your house.

I have a metal strip 2600 jr (made in ireland) iirc (or as with everthing I probably dont) these where made in the limerick factory that existed briefly.

is the difference on colouring on the strip ?

and yup the strip itself, with a mini rainbow instead of the whole console width.
Interested to see if you have a Jr. with the silver metal strip - unsure those are documented anywhere

    Yup, the very fella.
His Veccy controllers are lovely but the Atari is the one that I really wanted an arcade controller for and he mentioned it on his site.
He came up on the Vectrex Fans Unite FB group and a few messages later we had a plan!
He has a lot of orders so I've been a couple of months waiting for my turn, but all went well and now it's home, though I still haven't tried it out.

Upgraded undercover cops to alpha renewal version. It's like a different game, serious improvements to sound, music, moves, graphical details. Great!
That game is amazing, only heard of it yesterday, great fun to play and hilarious, I much prefer it to final fight. Reminds me of crime fighters a bit too, and a touch of golden axe with the running/dash.

I love the fact you can pick up almost everything to use as weapons, cars, flaming barrels, dead fish!

The wiki page talked about the other/original versions you mention with extra moves. Stupid that they removed them.

I couldn't believe you could pick up the big concrete pillars, but then he starts swinging it like a baseball bat! brilliant stuff

I never saw it in any arcade over here, did any place have the 3 player option?

I finally got to try out my new Atari stick and it works like a dream.
And things only got better when the rusty cogs of the noggin shifted into gear and realised that I now also have a cracking arcade stick for the Spectrum and C64!
I know, the Zipstick rules all but this thing is a revelation!
I have been playing 3D Starstrike and Flying Shark and it's brilliant!

Ah yes, an uncovered gem! It's like a cyberpunk final fight and very good, but it has to be the alpha renewal version.

I vaguely remember playing it in an arcade, but if I did it wasn't the 3 player version. Rare enough.

Other recommendations would be nightslashers by irem, it's the horror themed final fight.

Another would be Violent Storm by Konami, the tongue in cheek final fight. Check it out for the cheesiest of cheese's level 1 music. "He's a mad man" Great!

My Veccy adventure continues, with the arrival this morning of Dark Tower for the Vectrex.
This is a finished and enhanced copy of the game Dark Tower, which existed as a widely circulated prototype from back in 1983, itself based on a board game released in 1981.

This enhanced title has more variation than the original proto and is a complete game.
