Not retro but first pickup in a while. Pineview drive on the PS4. Budget horror game but looks like it didn’t get a big physical release

I just picked up a copy last night, last one was £10
Can't wait to go around Tallaght jkjk (had to see if there was Pineview Drive irl)

So, I happened upon a cab I've always wanted but figured I'd never have.
It's probably the only one I want.
And now I just have to collect it.

    A Robotron Cab!

    Woohoo!

I've a feeling it's not original, but a scratch build cabaret cab, still worth having imho.

I'm glad that you got something you always wanted :)

    Looks like a converted poker.
Also looks like the marquee is just inkjet printed.

    Bit more info he had up on this ad previously;

William's multi board with other games disabled.

Would be much more expensive with original boards etc.

    Cabaret conversion.

Joysticks are new. 14inch hantarex polo monitor.

Side art is painted not decals.

    https://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/robotron-arcade-machine/20026923

It might not be a bad way though of getting a nice little Robotron cabaret, even if it is a conversion.

I'd be checking the marquee and side art first though (that bit about the side art being painted is a little worrying)

Is 400 euro a good price for it then?
I knew at that price that it was too cheap to be an original cab

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,719 ✭✭✭The Last Bandit

Looks pretty good, as for the price building from scratch would probably end up costing more.

If the monitor doesn't have any burn in from a poker game and the artwork isn't shoddy (seems to be okay in those photos) then it's not a bad deal at all at €400.

I suppose even if the side art was a bit off you could get some new vinyl done up for it.

If you calculate the parts and labour of a conversion it seems about right to be honest.

It's worth noting that he did have it up at 850 originally, so you'd be getting it for less than half what he'd originally valued it at.

The problem with the poker machines is the control panel angle is awful for joysticks.

I got printed perspex for a sign a while ago. Local printer done mine

    https://www.creative-solutions-direct.co.uk/shop/details/printed-perspex

Definitely would get one of those made or similar. One that's in it doesn't look great at all

Trying to rebuild my Dynasty Warriors collection after selling all of them when I was young and stupid.
Thankfully they're easy enough to get.

DW7 and DW6E arrived this morning

Got a (not so Arcade/Retro, but the PS5 is coming right?) PlayStation 4 DUH-T1000AA 'Testing Kit'
    511292.png
Its really a large paperweight at this stage as it has a licence which needs to be re-new'd and that won't be happening right :) maybe a jailbreak in the future.
Contrary to some peoples thoughts you can use a normal PS4 controller with this unit at least, but you are just controlling a paperweight. It turns on, makes the jingles etc. but won't run anything which was to be expected.
This unit has a back story which I discovered in the rag of a box it was in. Turns out it was a unit sent to Sony folks to test out the PS VR headset, which it came with a PVT version of

I'm incredibly tempted to pick up a digital copy too. We won't have physical release for ages, sure the preorder only ends on the 10th of May.

Absolutely delighted to hear it's decent. In some ways I'm still finding it hard to believe

After having sellers remorse and with the incredible homebrew scene I decided to pick up another Vectrex, this one came boxed and complete even included the original purchase receipt! It’s a late model 31xxx version without the buzz, some really amazing homebrew available, picked up a couple of kristof tuts incredible games (vector patrol/vector pilot) and Chris Parsons Nintendo sherif like ‘frontier’.. really amazing stuff been done with these consoles Including vector mame outputting to the vectrex.. have also ordered a uv frame and some overlays from Laurence Bennion and an arcade stick from Virtvic on ukvac, really is an incredible time to be a Vectrex owner

Oh Wow - where did you get it from @mozie81 ?

I'm arranging shipping for one I got in the UK months ago and was supposed to pick up at Revival, but then I didn't got because of coronavirus.

It's currently with jason Birch (Argys Attic Repairs) who's recapping it for me, and I've already got a VecMulti here waiting for it - I can't wait.
I'm also very interested in Victor Marland's joystick - let me know what it's like !
And the UV stuff from Laurence looks absolutely class too

Got it from Dutchgameboys.com, was skeptical shipping of course but they assured me it would be well packed and they did a great job to be fair.. you can find the sticks on tenpencearcade.co.uk website, there’s a pretty long waitlist so I’d get on it fairly quickly if your after one, digital of course but look great and come in three types. I’ve had arcade related stuff from Vic before and his stuff is top quality. Got a few overlays only waiting for the frame from Jim Watt to be delivered, got a multi on the way too. Vextreme looks great but the ones available to buy on eBay etc. are suppose to have some issues with the solder mask so going to wait for a new run on those. The homebrew stuff is really amazing particularly kristof’s games, can’t imagine how he managed to get the quality so high, his next release is apparently a Vectrex qbert

Yeah was a pleasant surprise tbh apparently some of the later European models 31xxx to 4xxxx had buzz fixed, I was waiting for it to arrive to order the ‘buzz off’ kit for it, really want to try the audio tap now for external stereo sound, really is a lovely thing

Los Lobos here gave me his to fix just before the **** kicked off.
    I've hardly looked at it.
    Whats up with yours ?
you should a repair log and I'll ask loads of questions :P

I think his needs 1/2 new ICs as some of the graphics are displayed in reverse .
I need to get back on it because i really want to play it before returning it !

Picture is garbage on it, problem with the XY generation on the logic board if I remember correctly, so probably a bad chip in there somewhere.

Ah I just need to put some time into it but keep getting distracted with other stuff :)
