Glad Becky talked on record about how much Devitt has helped her out. I think he knew her own mind years before she did. From interview Devitt did with David Ditch in 2009:

Q: How do you feel Rebecca Knox has turned out?

A: Rebecca Knox is one of the hardest working and most dedicated wrestling students I have ever seen. Her passion for wanting to learn and her willingness to travel to learn from many people around the world is inspiring. Rebecca has not been wrestling recently due to injury but if or when the time is right for her I’m sure she will return stronger than ever. She had not yet begun to even begin to peek.

I loved Beckys match last night, easily my favourite of hers in Nxt so far, bar the 4 way.. I'd actually love if her gimmick morphed into her turning into the female version of McGregor, just talking sh*t on everyone but then backing it up by tapping everyone out..

The Wrestling names for the moves are the Fujiwara armbar and Nagata lock. She transitions from the Fujiwara armbar to the Nagata lock. On a cool note Yuji Nagata was one of Becky's trainer Finn Balor mentor when he was in New Japan.

Pro Wrestling and Martial Arts have intertwined have intertwined endless through out the history of both. There's a really good book about it:

But yeah not so much in North America as it is more show business but in Japan, Mexico and the UK grappling and submissions are a big part of the game.

There is a new modern wave of indie Wrestler using a throwback style using primarily mat wrestling and submissions. One of them is a guy called Zack Sabre Jr.

Zack had the same initial training as Becky and Finn Balor too with Andre Baker in the UK. Zack's gimmick/appeal is essentially spamming armbars and it is great.

In Becky's case she's just a natural with a lot of ambition who picked stuff up really fast. She's a brown belt Submission Wrestling. She used to work out at SBG and they were really impressed with her. Simply Pro Wrestling wise she might be the best female chain, submission Wrestler in the World. Certainly in her teens she blew people away in terms of just how advanced she was and how hard it was for even experienced male keep up with the stuff she doing. She built up huge rep in the industry and following online as a great wrestler in like 18-24 month span.

It was actually the transition more so that I thought was good. The first position is more of a holddown than a real armbar. But the transition was smooth and the second is more or less a bent knee armbar. Its technically flawed, but that's obviously intentional so she can sell it without putting pressure on.

you can definitely tell she's done some actually grappling. Didn't realise she's been in SBG. Not doubt it of course, just thought I'd have heard before now.
A brown belt in BJJ, Or some other style? Brown is pretty high level in BJJ. Be quite hard to pick it up on the side of all the other wrestling she's need to know.

I noticed they referred to her as a submission specialist on commentary too so it's obviously going to be a big part of her in ring style. Still not sold on the head banging tbh but at least she's cut down on it. Overall though she's doing great.

The submission specialist line is something she mentioned in that interview above. She seems to be getting her own way character wise which is good.

Something I've noticed about the last few weeks of NXT is the amount of heat Corey Graves gives Becky. To the point that is actually starting to aggrevate me.
He seems to get just a bit more personal with her rather than the typical heel announcer who rags everybody
