Expert electrical in the Galway Shopping centre have Soda Streams for sale. There's a good chance they'll have the gas cannisters too.

    Cheers, I’ll try them.

Try to sell the freezer. Somebody might want a second one for the utility and some people don't care whether appliances match.

Ya I was actually think of that. The freezer is perfect so no point dumping it.

Donedeal might recoup a few quid towards its replacement

I hear ya when you think of something going to landfill especially when you haven't gotten the years our of it you feel you should have. We talk about being green but the world's throwaway culture is shocking. Recently the gas lift in my office chair (WFH) started sinking. I've had it 5 years so some would think nothing of replacing it. However it's quite a good chair and everything else works. Got a replacement gas cylinder off amazon and a few youtube videos later I fixed it for < 20 quid..

Oh absolutely. I mentioned to one fella that I'd like to repair the fridge rather than just buy a new one and all the more so cos its part of a set. He told me I had 1st world problems because i wanted to keep the old fridge to match the freezer!

Its absolutely perfect in every other sense, but nobody will fix it. Like you I can purchase the compressor part online myself for 145 quid and probably fit it myself (handy at that sort of craic). But I can't handle the re-gassing of the system so there ends my poor young fridge.

I know you said you've tried everywhere but one sprung to mind, might be a longshot. There's a place in the industrial centre just up from GBFM, near the old Link cafe and Men's shed. Not 100% sure if they do fix fridges but I passed a couple weeks ago and they'd a cupla pallets of washers and dryers and the like outside. Might be worth a shout if you haven't tried them yet.

I asked previously about getting rid of plastic bottles. Anybody use glass ones? I do have a glass recycling bin accessible but just wondering if anybody needs actual made glass bottles for anything. I know there are classes in glass painting from some of the community centres when there isn't a lockdown on but anywhere else? Would probably be September before anything like one of those classes was likely to happen anyway.

Do you know anyone that makes homebrew? Maybe there's a Facebook group or something.
I give a lot of mine to a friend and get some full ones in return.

Anyone know somewhere in Galway that might be able to repair an electric scooter? Power bank showing a full charge but nothing happening so don’t know if it’s the battery or motor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 442 ✭✭Feria40

Hey all, anyone been to home store and more recently? Is it fully open inside?

    TIA

Was in this afternoon, pretty much everything open apart from the section that has mirrors and prints. All the essential BBQ's were available :pac:

until a specialised forum have been created, pending the legality issues and interest etc

This sounds like a blown fuse, see this page https://electricscooter.com/how-do-i-repair-my-electric-scooter-10-most-common-issues/

Halfords do it for Approx €35 but you would need to be sure you have no leaks first

They had an offer running a couple of years ago - I think it was free.

I've had it for 4 years now (2010 maje) so would assume it ran out.. stupid question, but does the 35 cover both the refill canister aswell as the service itself?

Radfix in liosbaun. Can't remember what the price was but when I went with my car and there was a problem they didn't charge but told me what probably needed to be fixed by my mechanic.

I need a solicitor to sign an affidavit - witness me signing a paper.
Do I just walk into any office and ask? Any quickie ones?

Does anyone know where I could get balloon sticks? All the obvious shops either don't have or won't sell them due to restrictions

    Ring in advance and check.
They don't really want people walking in off the street.
Depending on what it is they might do it remotely.
