Somebody should really put the word "EXPIRED" into the title of this thread

Yes, can't get the capsule out of the funnel. I'm finding it impossible get the filter arrow around to the funnel cut-out.

What capsule? The nespresso pod? Are you having trouble taking the pod out of the adapter??

Odd I haven't had any problems either removing capsules or separating parts from each other for cleaning.

You might need to post up a pic so that people can identify the problem.

    Fantastic! Get one.

Only downside is that the crema is quite "generous" (the foamy head), so you need to pause 1/2 way between a filling to spoon it off.

Apart from that, it's the highlight of my morning.

+1 fantastic, mines made about 800 cups now and ticking away great, just remember to descale it has no reminder.

Regarding the masssive fake crema, you get that with most pressurised basket espresso machines. I reduced mine to normal proportions by enlarging the orifice in the basket

I had one for a few weeks till I took it back, I wasn't happy with the steam wand. But I loved the amount of crema it made, it produced a really think layer every time, I couldn't get enough of it :D

Now that you mention it how do you know when to descale it?

Also could you put up a pic of the enlarged basket? I'd be worried I'd be messing with the wrong part.

    Cheers.

These things tend to come back in 9 month cycles, I'm seeing all the items I bought last Dec/Jan coming up on sale in Aldi/Lidl this week.

So estimate 9 months from the initial date this thread started.

    Ymmv ;)

Hi guys sorry for Zombie bumping but I got one of these machines last month from a friend who had it sitting in a cupboard for months after only using it twice because he thought it was too much hassle
. I had a bodum blade grinder and I'm using badger and dodo beans everything was going OK but I still wasn't getting the desired results so after a bit of research it was obvious the blade grinder was the problem.
So I ordered a delonghi burr grinder which I used for the first time this morning, I set it to the finest grind like I thought you needed to do for espresso and put the grounds into the filter and tamped them down but not with any great pressure and I popped the filter holder back in the machine and turned the dial as normal but this is where the problem is, the coffee only barely dripped out into the cup so I had to turn the dial back and then back on and it seemed to come through a bit faster but nothing like it used to and a third time to get my usual two shots of coffee, what normally took me roughly 30 seconds this morning took me almost 2 minutes. So is the machine screwed or can it just not deal with finely ground coffee.
In peed off cause I couldn't wait to get into work this morning to try it out. Any advice or experiences you've had would be greatly appreciated.

The finer the grind the slower the coffee will extract. An espresso should extract in around 20-30 seconds so use the grinder setting that gives you this time. Once you have this setting - adjust finer or coarser based on the taste of the espresso.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but usually Aldi have some form of this machine into its shops every year but I don't seem to have seen it this year. Did I miss it or have they just not had one this year?
