No thanks to Sagna, even on a free, not a fan at all. Neither a top class attacking full back, nor a brilliant defender. Ideally we'd get both, or else just stick with what we have.

We have just jumped the canyon of despair and barely got away with our lifes.

and some of you feckers have just turned your horses around and rode full pelt back for another go.

nope not me. I am quite happy riding off into the sunset with 2nd and CL qualification in my saddle bag..thank you very much :)

Nothing is a given in football. Following the game way too long to know that.

Liverpool were probably 1/100 or shorter to win last night when 3-0 up. Almost definitely shorter actually.

City were 1/11 to win the league when I checked after our game last night.

It's an outside chance and a very very slim one at that.

Teams that have nothing to play for are sometimes dangerous as they have no pressure.

I'm gonna clutch straws like never before this week ! Lol

    Sagna from Arsenal?

Would be a great addition imo.

Johnson I'm afraid is past his sell by date when defending.

Would prefer someone a little longer term, but he'd be an upgrade on Johnson.

Yep on paper Villa look to have it all to do. Terrible run of form, terrible record against City, some big names out, nothing to play for, and what not.

Seems to be just the right mix of no chance and dead ducks for a massive upset to to place.

We have nothing to lose by dreaming of a Villa win, and even if City do hammer Villa, well then we can dream of a West Ham win at the weekend.

The mercurial Stewart Downing skinning the Man City defence before floating in an inch perfect cross that gets met by the mighty Andy Carroll leaping like the salmon of knowledge. The net bulges and City lose by a goal to nil.

Then all wait on news from Anfield. Five minutes of added time is being played and the score is 0-0.

Then seconds before the ref blows up a foul is give, It's in the box. IT'S A PENALTY......

Up steps Gerrard....... it hits the bar and comes back out....only to be met by the head of Iago Aspas and the net bulges.

Iago Aspas has just won the league title for Liverpool. :pac:

Tony Pulis = football genius, should be a given for Manager of the Year. Ultimately, Rogers will probably get it due to the media's love affair with Liverpool this season. This year was a complete anomaly, Chelsea will finally sort out their striker issues and there will be large changes at Utd, Spurs and possibly even Arsenal. I'd actually bet against Liverpool making top 4 next season.

City have only lost at home to Chelsea this season and only drew once against Sunderland. Nothing about this season suggests Villa or West Ham can beat them.

    Most recent Villa City,

I have no idea where people are getting this unbeatable stuff from.

You can be sure there will be goals. That much is true

Villa City games can never be 'called' properly.

2013/2014 Sat 28 Sep Aston Villa 3 - 2 Man. City Premier League
2012/2013 Mon 04 Mar Aston Villa 0 - 1 Man. City Premier League
Sat 17 Nov Man. City 5 - 0 Aston Villa Premier League
Tue 25 Sep Man. City 2 - 4 Aston Villa League Cup

I won't be relying on Villa to beat City because they are just an awful team with a seriously overrated manager. If City don't win against them I'll start supporting United.

Villa have a decent recent record against City unlike Liverpool

    2013/2014 Sun 13 Apr Liverpool 3 - 2 Man. City Premier League
Thu 26 Dec Man. City 2 - 1 Liverpool Premier League
    2012/2013 Sun 03 Feb Man. City 2 - 2 Liverpool Premier League
Sun 26 Aug Liverpool 2 - 2 Man. City Premier League

    2 Points out of 4....

...There's a reason why this prison is the worst hell on earth... Hope. Every man who has ventured here over the centuries has looked up to the light and imagined climbing to freedom. So easy... So simple... And like shipwrecked men turning to sea water from uncontrollable thirst, many have died trying. I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope....

We need a good second keeper a left back a right back and a centre half. Then we move into midfield where we need a central midfielder and right sided and a left sided players and then we need a striker.

Eight players are needed and this is alongside keeping most of the players we have.

I think Jones, Agger,Johnson,Coates, Lucas,Aspas and Kelly will leave in the summer that will be seven who need to be replaced if we are bringing in eight that only adds one player to the squad.

It is going to be a hard job building up the squad for next season.

You're the one who posted up the results.

You're either counting the four results you posted or you're not.

Us Liverpool fans, we just want to keep our hopes alive, and a lot of things have been said over the last few days, some of it all slanderous, but we're bigger than that.

I've kept fairly quiet till now, but I'll tell you something, some people went down in my estimations when they said those things. We have not resorted to that.

But I'll tell ya something, and you can tell them all now, we're still fighting for this title and City have got Villa and West Ham and have to get something. And I'll tell you, honestly, I will love it if we beat them. LOVE IT.

But the battle is still on and Manchester City have not won this yet.

Theres a few players out on loan who may be brought back into the squad next season to flesh it out a bit.

    Wisdom, Borini and Suso.

Ideally I think Wisdom needs another year on loan. Suso I am not sure if he will be good enough in the long run.

Borini is an interesting one. Could definitely do a job for us. Problem is with such as small squad we need investment right across the team.

We will have enrique back but question marks surround his future.

Its possible we could be looking for a first choice Left back, a right back, a center back, A defensive midfielder, and an attacking forward that can play wide or up front.

Add in a new second choice goalkeeper, and another midfielder. You are looking at 7 or so players. 5 of whom would need to be top quality.

Thats a hell of a lot of money needed there.

    8 players?
So SIR Alex was right after all?

I think Borini will be better off with us and getting 30 games next season (even if 15 off the bench) than roughing it towards the bottom again. We could have used him at certain points this season, and I think he would learn a lot around the SSS to be more dangerous.

It is indeed, but it is also something that can keep someone driving on to the very end.

Just hope that Rodgers has Peters in talking to the players all week, and that come Sunday they go onto the pitch with the intent of giving their all, regardless of what is going on elsewhere.

City are favourites, and the pressure is on them now. Not many expect them to slip up, and most expect them to when the title. Would argue that that kind of expectation is just the kind of thing that could breed a bit of complacency.

We have two things to play for.

Win and we are guaranteed second place over Chelsea.

Win and we have an outside chance of the title.

Those two things are going to be enough to wake up the beast in every person in the ground come Sunday. It is going to be enough to wake up the beast in every person watching the game on tv, online or listening on the radio.

So I sure as hell hope that everyone behind the scenes at the club is doing their upmost to ensure that the eleven players that start the match on Sunday walk out knowing they have something to fight for.

It's going to be a cauldren of noise on Sunday even if City win tomorrow night, but just imagine the atmosphere if Villa, the mighty Aston Villa, can nick a win.

    COME ON VILLA.

I'll be happy if we add 2-3 first team starters. Having Champions league will be huge, makes signing guys like Micky and Salah much more likely. If we go into next season with a new CB, midfielder and right back I'd be very happy. Add in 3-4 depth signings and it will be an excellent summer. I don't see the need in selling any player unless we get a crazy offer.

Personal consolation for the day; I'd rather lose the title by a clear two points than lose it on goal difference. ;-(

That said, I still think we'll win the title.

I reckon Borini would have done a much better job at both ends of the pitch had he been in place of Aspas on our bench all season and there would have been more of an incentive to use him also. Great work rate and could help to close out games when holding a lead and also be an option in attack.

For example, how many times has Aspas been an unused sub this season? I'd say quite a lot!

You can just imagine us chasing a goal and Rodgers looks over at the bench looking for an inspirational sub to grab us a goal......

    "Alberto.....too slow
    Teixiera.....too inexperienced
    Aspas........
Na I think I'll just throw on Moses!" :P

Joe Cole killed me to watch, sometimes.

Antonio Nunez is another one who apathetically took the biscuit.
