    Antonio Nunez, European Champion.

Scored in a cup final for us too, just happens to be one that nobody remembers.

tbf to Joe, he (sometimes) put in a decent shift. Not the type of played we needed; plus as he said afterwards he didn't exactly want to be there either.

Apathy is the worst... I can take someone being ****e if they are making an effort.

I dont think we need that many signings this summer. I think our returning loan players should help to flesh out the squad a bit. Suso, borini, wisdom, ilori, assaidi, robinson, ibe, coady are all returning. Some of them will be sold or loaned and some of them may not be good enough but some of them could definitely do a job for us in fleshing out the squad next season. I would like to see our budget spent on 3 or 4 players that will significantly improve the first 18. Lallana/konoplyanka, two defenders and a flamini type centre mid. Signings that will see our match day squad have the likes of allen, coutinho, agger, borini, konoplyanka, sakho etc on our bench instead of the likes of aspas, alberto, moses, cissokho etc

I dont want another summer of aspas/alberto/moses type signings. Suso, borini, wisdom, ilori can certainly make up the numbers instead of spending the budget on squad players. Even two first eleven signings would be a good window in my opinion

I dont know about you guys but I found Andy Carroll infuriating to watch, bar maybe his good cup run.

I (like everyone else) cheered the guy on at nearly every good touch he made (in-hindsight more out of relief tbh..man we've come far)..but the longer it went on, and the more obvious it became that he will never work in Rodgers style;then the more I became upset looking at him lose possession, or us trying to ram the square block into the round hole.

I totally understand my upset was just a personal irrational feeeling but it really bugged me coming to the end of his time at LFC.

It's really clutching at straws here, but hopefully Carroll and Downing still have some love left for us. Nolan is a Liverpool fan aswell.

On a side note, we have definitely missed Henderson. Despite winning, we didn't play well at Norwich and the other two games, 1 from 6 says a lot really.

Carroll did destroy City a few seasons ago, on his best performance for us. Big Sam will no doubt have a chip on his shoulder and would love to throw a spanner in the title race.

Still would be shocked if City through it away now, but you never know...

We need a good second keeper a left back a right back and a centre half. Then we move into midfield where we need a central midfielder and right sided and a left sided players and then we need a striker.

Eight players are needed and this is alongside keeping most of the players we have.

I think Jones, Agger,Johnson,Coates, Lucas,Aspas and Kelly will leave in the summer that will be seven who need to be replaced if we are bringing in eight that only adds one player to the squad.

It is going to be a hard job building up the squad for next season.

Sorry but no. Wed be asking for trouble with an overhaul like that tbh, 2 full backs, 1, maybe two starting quality cms and another attacker would be good going along with some returning loaness imo.

    What's the story with Aspas?
I've seen him in a few 'flop of the season' lists but have never gotten a chance to see him at all.

Did he come on as a sub in a few early season games and play horrifically or what happened?
    Hasn't even gotten a chance

Hes a striker but he's pretty much always played on the wing, the only game he played up front he scored in fairness to him. The other players are simply better than him really.

Just wondering, how are tickets for the champions league purchased? Is it done the same way through specific sales? What Tier are they in?

    Any info would be great.

Milan Jovanovic was tough to watch, I guess someone can dig out that neighbours clip now!

I would think they will use previous Europa league attendances. I hope they use previous champions league games. I use never miss one when you could fly out of shannon.

    1. We need a back up goalkeeper.
    2. We need 2 full backs.
    3. We need 2 midfielders.
    4. We need one winger/striker.

That's a minimum of 6 players. We really could do with another centre half if Agger goes so eight players is not a stretch even with returning loan players.

What is the most amazing statistic about Liverpool for this season in your opinion?

Mine is this (and it can't change now unless Man Utd beat Soton) - Liverpool have the best away record in the league!

    played 19
    Won---10
    Drawn---5
    Lost
    4
    Goals for-48
    Against---32
    POINTS---35

    This summer I'd like:

    GK:
Pepe Reina back for FA and League Cup, and to keep Mignolet on his toes, foster team spirit.

    Defence:
A specialist left back. Johnson and Flanagan can both fill in there, but are mor comfortable on the right. Enrique does not fill me with confidence. Not talking £30 for Shaw, though. Maybe a cheeky offer to Ashley Cole? Or Marcelo, if his place at Madrid really is up for grabs. We were also linked with Siquera last year, but don't know what his current situation is.

    Ilori back as cover/competition.

I'd also like Rodgers to settle on a centre-back pairing. All of Agger, Skrtel and Sakho seem to have a brainfart in them, but that can only be heightened by the unfamiliarity with their partners.

    Midfield:

A mobile player with quick feet: a blend of Hendo and Allen. Don't want to see us go for an out-and-out destroyer at the expense of forward momentum. Lucas hurts us when he plays because he doesn't blend with our attack. Not sure who fits the bill here -- maybe Song at Barca?

    Attack:

Borini back as a squad player, for cups, and to close out games when we're ahead. Between Suarez, Sturridge, Borini and Sterling, I think we're covered OK up front. An additional versatile supporting player, possibly two, (Konoplyanka, Tello, Lallana?) to rotate with Sterling, Coutinho is also needed.

    Buy: Marcelo, Song, Lallana
    Keep: Reina, Borini, Ilori
    Sell: Aspas, Assaidi
    Loan: Alberto, Wisdom, Teixera

Mine's that we've scored 3 or more goals in 55% of our games (21/38).

That's a dick load of goals.

That's a good thing , shows they understand what's happened.

All the best sides have had heartbreak moments where victory has been taken from them, that they threw away themselves.

Fact they are hurting should spur them on to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Sequira linked with Real so little chance. But if that happens Coentrau(?) would be leaving or Marcelo. I expect the LB we get will be underwhelming, as in, not a marquee player in that position. Davies(?) at Swansea or Bertrand from chelsea or someone of that ilk.

I would be fairly surprised if we buy a RB even though we are being linked with a few but Johnsons time may be up, with his contract running down and his wages high.

Ilori will be interesting. I think he will go on loan again though, but to a premiership side to get more game time and see how he copes with the more physical side of the premiership.

Borini is interesting too. Will he be happy playing second string with 20-30 minute cameos or will we sell and buy a more established player to rotate with out front two?

Also, sad to see the Narrator has closed his account:(

Reina will not be coming back. But a keeper to challenge Mignolet would be handy alright.

So, that sucked really bad last night. Can't believe we capitulated like we did but in retrospect, it was something that we narrowly dodged more than a few times this season.

Offensively, we are very strong and have the core of what is needed to be genuine contenders for the league title. Defensively, and this won't be new to anyone really, we aren't quite at the desired standard. The vast majority were aware of that shortcoming but it is a shame that it has hurt us like it has.

Ultimately, the season is over and our primary objective has been achieved. Really need to sign the right players now and make sure that we are sufficiently placed to secure top 4 again next season and give the CL a decent effort. The worst thing we could do now is get ahead of ourselves and target winning the league next season. Just build incrementally and strengthen at the back. If we end up in contention again, then happy days. If not, then it shouldn't be a surprise.

Complete lack of balls last night. Defence had no interest in putting the foot in.

Rodgers probably told them to keep attacking all season cos he knew they couldn't defend.
