Must've been some hill they left it parked on!

Looking at the picture, it was probably left with the other cars beside the church.

    Is it worn ?

There's a geezer in Cork we've thrown a few motors to called Dr Leather.

Cork or Limerick....... one of those Southern places :D

Yeah, the bolster is worn, and maybe cheaply repaired at some stage. Anyone know anyone in Dubla or close to that does that kind of work without costing an arm and a leg. I probably wont bother to be honest, but I am getting to the stage where I want everything perfect!

Yeah I reckon so, I'd expect the A3 to have serious wing damage if the corsa reversed into it, and yet there's not much on the drivers side.

There's a lip between the grass and the wall. A good one too. No evident damage to the front of the corsa.

Well there's no way the car could have ended up like that due to the handbrake being off from any other angle unless it was physically lifted up.

Not arguing that just can't understand how she cleared the wall so well

That's what I thought too, shirley if it was beside the church, it would've just crashed into the wall?

Looks like it was just dropped from a height tbh!

Thick tyres and good momentum would possibly be the reason.

I actually know Derek as well! Great guy, and savage work, but I was looking for a cheaper fix. Ah feck it, doesn't bother me much. Plenty of other things I want done to the motor!

I got the engine out of the Triumph with the help of two neighbors whom I hardly know.

Didn't even need an engine hoist

    What a day!
    Skived off early from work:D
    Had a blowout on the m4 :(
Saved loads of fuel by driving the rest of the way home on my space saver :D
Took me ages at 100km/hr :(
Got passed out by 2 big bikes on their back wheels at high speed :D
Got passed out by everyone else aswell :(

As an aside I'm never buying hankook tyres again, cornering grip was ok, traction was ****e, they wore really quickly (only on the car since Christmas, with only half that time on the front) I had one sidewall puncture after a week (new tyre needed) and now I had a blowout on another (they are still well above the legal limit, no wires!)

What new tyres to buy tomorrow??
Happy with the Goodyear efficient grips on the front.

Don't think it's funny myself either, the original post gave me a laugh though.

The outer rim and tyre look OK as if he didn't hit anything.

Yeah, by the looks of it the outer and inner parts just separated from eachother.

I wonder if someone swapped the wheels at some stage for reps, very small chance I know but in my experience OEM vag wheels are usually pretty solid.

Are advance pitstop any good? And are they reasonably priced? I'm thinking of going to them in Athlone to get the car fixed for NCT. I was getting a high Lambda reading and I can hear a bit of a rattle in the exhaust, so it sounds like it is loose. So maybe air was getting into exhaust to give a high reading at NCT. The exhaust was loose before one time I got a service as I said to mechanic I can hear a bit of a rattle and he said it was loose and he tighened it up. Is that normal for a exhaust to keep coming loose over time. It's the first car I've owned where it is happening.

    Already been confirmed they're genuine.

Manufacturing flaw that wasn't picked up on most likely

Sorry man but a high Lambda reading and a rattly exhaust points to the cat having broke up and fell down into the lower boxes :(

Here's another tip, don't put hankook tyres on it ;)

Seriously though, check the insides of your front tyres the 159 wears them pretty quick, the rest still looks perfect!

Previous owner recommended rotating them every 10k km or so. I've already been tipped off about it. First car in ages I've owned that I really love.

Mine has Firestones fitted btw and while I never rated them highly for wet grip they were really put to the test last Sunday and proved themselves very capable in an emergency. Had a tractor pull out on me on a turn on a very wet road covered in shyte. I waited for it to start the slide but it never came. The car just held perfect.

I'd be wanting a new car off them. Sickener happening to a new car like that.

Firestone are a slightly cheaper version of (and owned by) Bridgestone so I would have thought they'd be good.
