We would be completely F!cked if anywhere even remotely close to us had a nuclear accident. Radio active particules everywhere.

Sellafield is gone sure. Sure when chernobyl went there were particles thousands of miles away. Nuclear fallout has no boundaries

That's a road trip I want to do some day, btw ;)

France is just across the water, each dot is a nuclear plant.

Very chancey buy with no warranty.

I splurged all my budget on my chrysler, but would have been interested (providing it was sold well below market rates)

While waiting for a ferry before, we took a drove out of Cherbourg, we came across the Flamanville site.
The sheer size is mind blowing, we were driving along the front of it for a good 5 mins, I'd say it's 2 miles across the front alone!

A lot more closer to home on the west coast of the UK. Not much of a concern given a Chernobyl-esque event is impossible with modern plants.

Was Fukushima not a modern plant?
    That was quite the disaster!

    It's not a Chrysler - it's a Mopar. ;)

That was the result of a Natural Disaster though but your point still stands, if something like that were to happen in France, we'd be a bit goosed.

The Focus ST I went to look at couple weeks ago seems to be gone not for sale anyway! I hope someone didnt pay anywhere near 10.5 for it was worth nothing like that! Was far from spotless either!

Lightning just went all mod explaining all that :(

As a mechanical renewable engineer, I'd never shun nuclear.
It's amazing, producing so much power and so cleanly.
If we could only get fusion to work we'd be away!
    Build them everywhere!

    I'm with you lightning :)

Oh no MM has turned into a mod :pac:

Very interesting topic lads...but maybe not suited to the motors chat thread.

My new Koni Sport rear shocks are going to be another 3 weeks...they have to come direct from Koni, as apparently no one in the UK has any for my car. Aw.....

    That's quite true actually :)
Sorry to hear about the shocks, stuff like that gets me down when I've been expecting it :(

Was hoping to get them fitted on the weekend ah well!

I am still waiting on rear shock since August 13th, Usually when I get stuff from Japan it takes 5 working days by air but the postal service refused to ship the Shocks because they contain a small amount of Gas and they were worried they would explode, someone should tell them they have giant versions of these on every airplane's landing gear:rolleyes:. So they are traveling by sea which takes weeks. NCT soon too so hope they arrive.

Anyone mechanically minded want to go take a look at an E39 down in Cork in the next week or so?

What do yee make of this jack?

    http://www.halfords.ie/motoring/garage-equipment/trolley-jacks-axle-stands/halfords-2-tonne-trolley-jack-low-profile#tab3

The fact that it's low profile is a big plus for me, as my car is a pain in the arse. Need to replace my lidl jack, it's been good to me, but I just don't trust it anymore. I'm going to pick up these axle stands to replace my lidl ones also:
