Is it just me or does that seem too much of a beast to be sold for so little?
What would the MPG and tax be on that bad boy?

It's a little rough, leather seats are stained, alloys are gimp.
To tax 1080(this is guessing off the top of my head, would be close enough)
Insurance wouldn't be too bad, depends on age and NCB.

    Taxed 01/2016

    Nct 02/2016

Good old reliable. Chance your arm and get 100 or so off I reckon?

Not bad, Paint does look ever so slightly faded to me (but may be just in the pics). But nothing a bit of T-cut wouldn't sort.

That's a good bargain that Ford.
Good honest famliy car the C-Max. Aren't the 1.6 diesel the worst ones though?

Dont think they are any worse than other engines. Turbos can go if you max out your oil interval, but turbos go in a lot of engines.

If its running well now at 155K miles, then no reason why it shouldn't continue with regular care and feeding.

Mid to low 20's mpg wise. Strange that there's no inside pictures of the cream leather interior that's mentioned in the ad.

Stupid question, but how did you check this?

Stupid question, but how did you check this?

It's not a stupid question! I literally only found out recently how to check.

    https://www.ncts.ie/booking_app/Bookings/NCTReminder.aspx?language=english

And then you want to check if cars have changed hands within the last 3 months with:

    https://www.motortax.ie/PSE/pseVehicleSearch.do

Total star, thank you. Looking for something super cheap and auto to do me for two months.

A car so depressing that drivers have only been willing to sit in it for 30,000 miles in 20 years... :)

a tad heavy on the juice me thinks, but then only a very high max of 5k would be the milage for a year, the comfort would be worth it, but as you said what condition are the seats in

Lads, I was looking to go see this tomorrow. It probably falls near enough bangernomics territory with the few months test on it.

I looked up the page here about buying a used car and checked the NCT which was OK and checked the vehicle enguiry here. https://www.motortax.ie/PSE/start.do?page=welcome

It says its a dealer but the guy I spoke with sounded private. The same car was put up on dealer.ie 10 days ago with slightly different photos and 100 quid more expensive.

    http://www.thedealer.ie/search/listing/cars-and-vehicles/cars/mayo/private/93098

    Thoughts?

edit: But it's the same phone number on both adds.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Also if you google the phone number you'll see there's a load of adds been put up by him so he's probably just a small trader, yeah?

I trade well haven't for a while and some are fine but go on merrit of car.

If it's all above board and works fine then it shouldn't be too muh of a problem if he sells a few.

Cheers man. I was happier when I noticed it was the same guy who put up the add 10 days ago on the other site. I was worried someone had bought it and then was trying to get rid a week later.

Wow ... there's a blast from the past. I almost bought one of them as my first car years ago ... went with an '89 one of these instead ... make the right choice, I've been a Honda fan since ..

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/automatic-nissan-march/9145358?offset=17

Ended up buying a 00 Nissan March/Micra import for 600e! When I called the guy to say I couldn't offer him his asking and said best I could do was 600, he said "Ah I'm sure she'd (his wife) would take that. Sure if she gets annoyed I'll deal with it."

Bargain. Drives fine, NCT'd till next year. Just needs an aul oil change.

Don't worry about a fella selling a few cars, it's the car you worry about.
Small time dealer is probably just making a few quid on the side.

Yep he told me as much. I didn't go for the Primera in the end. Second one of them I've looked at this year and there's always a load of small niggles with them. Bought a 2006 Citroen C5 of him that has 12 months test and 3 days tax. Pure bangernomics I think.

Hopefully it'll do me better than the last one I took a gamble on.
