So what are peoples thoughts on Dany's army?

We know that she has the Unsullied, and their exact count. And we know that she has a large following of ex slaves from the other cities. But does she have the men that used to follow Daario, the Stormcrows? Is she putting together a new army of able bodied ex slaves?

It would be interesting to get an idea of her total numbers, as it stands. Because the logistics of moving such a force around, by foot, is very difficult.

And I'm curious about the standing army of Meereen. The reason the previous city brought in the Stormcrows was because they didn't have any army of size. Daario mentioned that most of the soldiers were slaves. So I wonder if Meereen is different?

The second sons you mean? Aren't they about to get a new member once the Hound drops his cargo off at the Eerie !

It wasn't made clear actually if the remainder of the second sons are now with Dany/Dario or did they perish in Yunkai.

Sorry, I couldn't remember their name and did a quick google search, but trying to avoid spoilers I grabbed the first name that popped! :D

Thats what I'm curious about. Are they still with Dany? Or did they just walk away after Yunkai?

The triple negative in the title has left me baffled as to which thread this is.

Why do you care, it's only a TV show. :p

Again with the crossbows? Where are you seeing these crossbows?

The  here is as to the meaning of the word "if"? It's a common enough word... Any chance you'd show me where I said anybody in the scene had a crossbow? Cheers...

I knew the rape scene would spawn some ridiculous real world parallels from all sides. This thread hasn't been as bad as the rest of the internet though

In fairness, I don't think it was the "rape scene" discussion he was complaining about...

anybody else think that Joffrey may have been killed by his grandad Tywin

when he insulted him, saying his father won the war while he hid under Casterly Rock, bound to have struck a nerve with him
I think it was Tywin. Not so much because Joffrey insulted him but more so because he was too volatile and difficult to control. This time round he gets in at the beginning with the new king and Dan train him to be the king (front man) he wants / needs him to be. Tywin will be king in all but name this time.

I also think Tywin is responsible but I don't think Joffrey was the target. When Tyrion handed the drink to Joffrey he seemed to take it from in front of Olenna Tyrell. A few scenes earlier she'd put Tywin in his place, he wouldn't have liked that.

How long was Joeffrey's reign in real time? It might be a question for people who read the books

No idea. Little finger said to Sansa Joffrey had been torturing her for years though.

I believe that Cersei had the most to lose after the wedding, disturbing as it might be, I think she might be responsible.

Once the wedding day was over she would no longer be Queen, she had no remaining influence over Joff, her place on the council could be taken away from her and she would be married off by her father.

With his death she remains Queen regent, and will have far more influence over her younger son.

In the book timeline it's roughly two years.

But Dany been told him to get a horse! She knew the way these things were supposed to be done. The other guy even waited for him to do so.
She told him to get a horse because she didn't think he had any chance to win if he didn't have one.

The message sent and received was that Dany's army are not to be f*cked with and will win even if they seem like they are outnumbered or at a strategic disadvantage

I think the slaves are gonna have a massive impact on the rest of the story. Dany is cultivating a reputation as a Liberator and when this spreads, she'll have allies deep inside the city walls everywhere her army marches and her army will grow with every city she liberates.

Building a reputation is very important for her character. Who she is now is vastly different to who she was at the start of season 2. For example you can't imagine her almost having to beg to enter to a city. And no one would keep her waiting at the bottom of their stairs.

She is now a force to be considered. As seen in the change of Tywin's attitude towards her.

The slave thing is her personal vendetta. If word of it spreads to Westeros it will help to soften her reputation. The return of the Mad Kings daughter is PR that she doesn't need. The liberator of injustice is something that the common people could get behind.

Allies are what she needs most. A power vacuum left behind because of her conquests would be the ruin of her. But strong leadership will give bring loyalty and the money to match any Lannister! :D

    couple of questions:

Littlefinger was supposed to be heading to the Vale to marry the mad breastfeeing one, right? Why did she agree to marry him? Doesn't she hate the Lannisters? I seen to remember a scene where they were in the small council meeting and Tywin tell Littlefinger he will marry her.

Is he still heading there with Sansa?

If Arya and the hound are also heading there, does that mean the sisters might finally be reunited? Though with Arya's history that doesn't bode well for Sansa, the closer she gets to her family the quicker they die!!

She's Catelyn Starks sister, Littlefinger was raised with them and they were childhood friends.

Does she even know about this plan yet? I got the impression that Tywin was telling Littlefinger to marry her and get her on their side, I don't think Catelyn's sister (can't remember her name) knows anything about it yet!

I have a really bad feeling that Sansa's situation just got a lot worse. Once Tyrion is out of the way for murdering Joffrey he'll be free to do what he likes with her. Part of me thinks his obsession with Catelyn has been transferred to Sansa now.

Littlefinger really gives me the creeps, horrible character.

It was Aidan Gillen's birthday yesterday, incidentally. Happy name-day Littlefinger

Timelines is something that people infer themselves anyway if the information isn't given away directly in TV shows. Its been done with all the big shows. I just figured in this case it would make more sense to ask those who had read books. A rough timeline of Joeffrey's reign is hardly a spoiler.

On another note, my first GoT book arrived today. Do I have to leave now...?
