Right now I'm kind of confused. I always wanted to get rid of this car, but after replacing the ECU on it and taking it for a test drive, I don't know what to do. Should I keep it or sell it? The engine runs perfect, plenty of power for a 1.4. Gearbox is perfect too. Brake pads are seriously worn though, I'll get those replaced. Maybe I'll put it through the NCT, but I don't know, wasn't expecting to feel this way about it. :P

Brake pads are a sub €100 fix, less if you do them yourself, I'd be inclined to keep it, it's at a price now where keeping it a year or 2 knowing the basics are good makes perfect sense. Put it through the NCT, you would be surpised what little fixes if any might be required.

Correct, didnt spend long there but managed to stop by Ireland's favorite Parochial House. The route up to it wasn't what I was expecting at all. Just aswell nothing was coming the other way :D

I can get a set of 4 pads for about €25 and replace them myself. Yeah, I'm starting to think I will put it through the NCT.

You can really stuff them into corners. Great craic.
Buckets of headroom, seats go right to the floor - feet catching on steering column is a pain though.

That's lovely, the colour scheme suits it very well a lot of them I'v seen look like glorified Avensis' but the wheels set yours off perfectly.

Please excuse the filth of the car... Cleaned it yesterday and neighbours cut grass and it blew all over the car and stuck!!

Anyway, new shoes, 17s love them ! Cars going for a full valet inside out tomorrow so will get better pics then.

Cheers man! Yeah definitely could do with a pinch of a drop, the low profile tyres helped it out a bit though :) oh I got reg plates today too but not going to stick them on til car is clean tomorrow!

Next step will be drive shaft change in 2-3 weeks and some sort of aftermarket air filter.

Excuse state of tyres and wheels, just some pdr on doors now xenons with ballasts and rear limo tint and i will get to experience those few weeks where car is exactly how you want it to look before a stone chip or something similar ruins it on you :)

That front plate looks absolutely class.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,066 ✭✭✭✭Big Nasty

That looks pox on the front IMO dude. Maybe if it was smaller it would work a bit better. I know the look you're going for but a centred plate suits the car better I think.

Im more concerned it's just gonna attract hassle.

Saw a front square plate to offside of grille on a new A4 the last day (Pressed metal but i went for plastic)and ordered a plastic one, will just stick on with some automotive tape.

No point spending 250 quid on a new front grille so now 3/4 of my massive FMIC is getting air instead of less than half that and covering it up again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 478 ✭✭jimmy180sx

Would imagine that plate location wouldnt pick up on the toll's? Nice idea, but think a centre plate would set it of better. Lovely looking ST

this parking is a farce, maintenance guy around Monday, hedge goes or I am out. Idiot next to me parks as close as possible, wtf. He cant open his door, (as much as I can). Parking here is shambolic, a parking space is like gold dust.
