And there was me expecting to play it first on PS4 as it was made by ....Sony. All I want is a Zombie apocolypse survie 'em up on PS4. Is that too much to fecking ask!!

It's by SOE and the game is on the same engine as Planetside 2 which was also on PC first and has been getting PS4 release delays. With PS2, it's because they can't get the game to run properly on Sony's hardware. I don't think that's the reason for a later release for this game but I'm curious to see if they have the same performance issues later on. They might not try to hit 60fps with H1Z1, though - Any info on that?

The PS2 beta is taking entries now, they've never had a delay as no date has been given. The PS4 had it down as launch window game but no date was ever given, SOE are terrible when it comes to announcing thing. Reddit is going mad about another coming soon announcement with the early access another month off and no sight of release. Not to mention the multiple tiered early access.

Since it's the same engine, I imagine once they get PS2 running on PS4 then H1Z1 won't be long in following.

Yup that's what John Smedley (SOE President) said in the live stream last night.

I'd like to see more role-playing elements in games of this type - in particular, specialising of skill-sets. Give players a reason to spare other's lives, trade with them, form alliances etc. Food and munitions can be taken from a corpse, but you can't kill someone and then take their medical training, tracking skills, vehicle maintenance know-how, building skills etc. Meh, not a complaint of this or any other specific game - just something I'd like to see for the sake of realism.

That would be awesome, just kidnap them and have them either work of give the knowledge under duress

This is out tomorrow many people getting it?

I seen they've added playerunknowns Battle Royale along with TDM/ctf but you have to use a ticket to play them, by either buying one or finding one or earning one in game

The PVE only will please some, hope you can't jump the same character between them to allow people to load up in PvE and then jump into PvP.

Disappointed they didnt so the same as Planetside and include Station cash in packs.

I imagine if you swap to a pvp server then you'll start with a fresh character. It would be very stupid otherwise.

Happens in Dayz with bought servers and either they're always passworded during "maintenance" or mods auto kick anyone joining.

Yeah its a big pain. Whole clans running around geared to the hilt with loot from private servers.

Characters are server locked, so server hopping won't be possible.

Same as Planetside then, I guess when it's a couple of thousand players rather than like in dayz where servers fill easier there's no need.

    just reading this

"The game is still in an early development state, and in a direct reference to the game H1Z1 is referencing, Smedley admits that the game you'll play on January 15 will not be better than DayZ."

    Wouldnt get to excited so

Not like he can come out and say otherwise, as bad as DayZ can be a new early access game not going to be bug free.

    We'll know tomorrow.

It's still an early access. That's all your paying for so tbh, I wouldn't expect much at all today.

Maybe it'll work, but don't hold your breath. Still, will know this evening.

I don't feel like paying to be a games tester for a future PS4 version but if it's any good then I'll buy it.

No eu servers on launch? :https://twitter.com/j_smedley/status/555189900299870208

    How much will it be?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Noxin

    Free on release.

    For EA:
$19.99 Standard package: Early Access to H1Z1, 3 Event Tickets, 1 Key, 2 Crates.
$39.99 Premium package: Early Access to H1Z1, 25 Event Tickets, 3 Airdrop Tickets, 4 Keys, 6 Crates, Exclusive Aviator Hat Crafting Recipe.

No euro price but I expect it'll be a straight forward dollar to euro sign change to screw us over as usual.

Might get it tomorrow so after I see what other people think.

The excitable part of me is eager to play this. The grumpy side of me is fed up with paying to be a beta tester for a game that's years from completion.

    Decisions, decisions.........

Not sure with steam being in the middle, but if SOE other early access game is anything to go by.

    $19.99 (~€17.20) = €16.99

so it ends up cheaper as of now, but with steam getting a cut who knows. The US prices for the most expensive versions of their other EA game Landmark is cheaper in Dollars so it's more about hitting price points.
