    If you're going to be using it on a wooden floor, use a solid rubber ball that won't slip about. Lacrosse ball or you'd get a solid rubber ball in a decent pet shop in the dog toys section.

    I'm completely and utterly up to my eyeballs at work at the moment, it's insane
    I had to miss oly yesterday too :mad: Never again. Putting my foot down
    Over working, under eating >< way undereating. But lots of sleep anyway! on the weekends i mean. i got a 2 hour nap on saturday and then 13 hours of sleep

    oly class today!
    it went really well like i was all fresh in my snatches though i was gettin a bit faint in the heavier CNJs!

    today i had to ...
    snatch from the hips which was odd to get the hang of
    snatch using the big girls bar :eek:


    got a new snatch PR 28kg :D:D
    CNJ went up to 38 for a double
    came home and did a couple negatives, hung on for 2-3s for the first one

    oly class
    snatching started off with a shooting pain up my arm
    hockey ball rolling on the elbow sorted it out but i was a bit off after that. combo of learning to stabilise and being convinced any weight on the arm would hurt it again (it didn't really)

    so now i will add elbow rolling to the list of things to do

    hang cleans and cleans above the knee were grand, up to 38
    was all set to do a double at 40 but then we stopped ;(
    front squats, rows

    everything hurts ^^

    i should add that even though i keep wimping out on the singles on the deadlifts and switching to reps, it feels a lot better already, setting up better etc, and i can definitely see the benefits

    It takes 7.5 minutes to do the singles.

    Your first rep is always the dodgiest on the DLs.

    The point of multiple singles is that you get to practice the toughest part a lot.

    By doing a set of 5 at the end you get 27% less practice doing that.

    No i still have a few more weeks. It's been slow this time! Especially because i messed up at the start and thought i was doing 3 sessions on each weight before progressing so i ended up a couple weeks behind pretty quick.

    Snatches were about HTFU and getting used to the big girl bar
    Got better at it for sure

    CnJ comfy new pb of 41kg,twice :)

    Showed off my awesome progress at negatives at the end :)

    Feel great after that

    Ahh it was mostly energy. I nearly didn't go at all today but a bodyweight squat isn't gonna lift itself???

    I had to work late yesterday so no oly :mad: and I ate about 1100 cals for the day oops
    got home at 7pm today having eaten 450 cals oops again
    some porridge and protein and vitargo and I was set to squat and that was it!
    I made a new friend at the gym too
    lol
    I'm really happy with the squats
    I want a bodyweight squat
    somewhere around 80 - 82.5

    was smothered with a cold and working a lot
    and at a wedding

    today was good!

    did a lot of snatches up to 20 successfully i think it was
    i missed the 25s on the girls bar a few times and got fed up
    THEN we did this thing where you start off on your tiptoes and elbows up and BAM drop under it
    that helped loads and then i knocked out snatches on 22 or 23 without half the issues i had before
    (except my wrist, it's killin me)

    cleans were those umm hang clean things from the hips
    up to 40. Then I made the mistake of counting the weight on the bar and panicked at 41 and missed :rolleyes:
    I am well able for 41 like

    then jerks from the stands, did up to 35 that was grand

    then negative pull ups!
    I hung on for AAAAAGES for these!!! i was so happy :D:D making progress!

    so basically i have been working early morning til the gym closes so i haven't been able to get near it
    then i was sick as a dog all weekend and couldn't stand so no oly on saturday and no lifting yesterday either. only bed
    today i went and was convinced i was gonna fall over for most of the class but i am glad i went because i am addicted to lifting

    we learned hookgrip for snatching today, seemed grand
    had to keep it light

    I didn't keep a strict record of what we were doing but I think this is it:

    Snatch
    7 kg x 2 reps
    10 kg x 2 reps
    15 kg x 2 reps
    18 kg x 2 reps
    20 kg x 2 reps
    20 kg x 2 reps

    I failed a 22 or a 23 somewhere as I was fairly faint for them and just stopped myself halfway through

    Snatches were rock solid today ... I was really happy. We used the big girls bar early on and it wasn't a problem. I feel like I've had a little breakthrough on them
    We did 2 pulls before each snatch but I duno how to log them on fitocracy... maybe it's "snatch pull"...

    Adidas with their marketing, making singlets sound cool! In fairness there may be some differences compared to a singlet used for powerlifting - the zip and non-slip material on the chest being the obvious ones.

    The terms weightlifting suit and singlet are used interchangeable. And depending on what model/ brand you get determines whether it has a zip/no zip etc Older ranges don't zip up at the back where as the newer ranges do

    today's snatches weren't half as awesome as saturday's by which i mean the bar went flying at the wall behind me and took down the gym banner
    no half measures
    snatches: 13 up to 20 in singles. few doubles

    CNJ: arms and shoulders were screaming at this stage and i couldn't lift anything. practised jerks and got a bit better at the feet. 25 up to 35 today.

    front squats: turned into a giant moanyface (really sorry): 50 x3, 45 2x3

    on the plus side, my wrists were fine!

    went out for a jog ~ 3.3km / 20 mins
    then walked the doggy and we jogged a small bit of it
    total distance tonight ~6-7km of which ~4km jog
    said i'd do a 5km race next week, I think i'll end up walking half of it like last time at this rate

    ...but despite all my whingeing i do enjoy running at night, and i nearly turned around and did all of that again

    testing day!!!
    so between lack of training and losing 3.5kg i was like, if i hit last time's numbers i'll be happy

    but no, i jumped my squat from a solid 70kg to a solid 76 kg :D not quite bodyweight yet but almost there!!!
    deadlift was +2.5kg to 110kg!
    fitocracy says my 45 bench wasnt a pr. maybe i hit 46 last time? :confused::confused:
    Also note to self, lucozade and coffee for breakfast, a boiled egg for lunch, is not enough fuel for going to test >>

    really happy with all that now!
    not bad progress from 0 to 76 in a year and half!!

    went for a walk which was intended to be a jog but was just heavy and sluggish
    brought my phone to see if i'm overestimating my usual distances. measured at the halfway point, the one i usually log as ~4.4 is really 4.2. not too bad so!
    i didn't do 4.4 though, was dark and lonely outside so i detoured through a village

    3.4km in half an hour
    lols isn't that my jogging pace >.>


    also the cookies&cream myprotein flavour is lovely
