Last time I had the Rheinbacher I found it a bit rough and really fizzy, but that was a really long time ago as well. The Perlenbacher, even the normal every day 6-pack x 500ml they do, is actually surprisingly decent.

Aldi Rheinbacher is better than Lidl Perlenbacher imo, even prefer it over the brewed-in-Germany XXL Perlenbacher

The Rheinbacher even tastes decent from the cans.

Has more of a pilsner malt taste than the Perlenbacher which is a wheat taste.

Lidl advertising 8 cans of Guinness for a tenner starting Thursday.

Perlenbacher I find to be just too sweet. Maybe to do with the wheat you mention above.

Rheinbacher on the other hand definitely more bitter. Feels like a more true reflection of what a pils is supposed to be and it’s sooo cheap.

Would love one right about now tbh

it's not really a true Pilsner but it's decent stuff for sure and especially for the price.

If anyone is in a border area- you might be pleased to note that Sainsburys have a plethora of Jack Daniels 70cl bottles on special from Wednesday
    • Jack Daniel's Tennessee Apple Liqueur 70cl
    • Jack Daniels' Tennessee Fire Cinnamon Whiskey 70cl
    • Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey Whiskey 70cl
    • Jack Daniel's Whiskey 70cl

All @ £16 a bottle from Wednesday- quota of any 3 bottles per customer.

Sterling is back up at 90p- so its remarkably good value.

It's all relative tbh, at the price point it's decent and well above a lot of the more expensive whiskey from new suppliers.

The powers offer above may be better for a more seasoned whiskey drinker.

And going back to the bargains, Powers three swallow is 33 in SuperValu at the moment, fantastic stuff and nothing would beat it at the price.

Got a bottle of 3 swallows today. Looking forward to trying it. Thanks for the tip
Has to be better than mediocre Jameson:)

Powers 3 Swallow is an absolutely superb whiskey. And at €33 is an absolute steal.

    Very very underrated whiskey.

In true Bargain Alerts style, I just snagged the last one in SuperValu, Deansgrange :D

Have you tried St Etienne lager in Aldi? For €1.39 per 500ml bottle, I think it's very good.

Picked up one myself today too!
They had the new and old versions on the shelf, grabbed the old one this time, still getting used to the new tube/presentation...

Regular price is £25 each- so it is a decent discount.

I have. Lager-style beer. It's ok but I'd prefer the Rheinbacher personally.

Sainsburys allegedly have a 25% off 6 or more bottles of any wines or Prosecco from the 17th until the 21st (Sunday). Quota of 36 bottles per customer.

I say 'allegedly' as they advertised this offer on two dates in April and May- and didn't run it.

    Which Tesco?
I paid EUR30 for a box of 24 (33cl) in Tesco Maynooth today.
Still not bad value, but not EUR25.

I've been brow beaten (by a 9 and a 10 year old) into going to Easons in Dundrum on Thursday. I'll check out Tesco while I'm there.

Anyone seen this Peroni offer knocking about in any other Tesco please ?

My local one didn't have it , might be store specific.

Not online either, the only offer advertised is this. Was it short shelf life? Big peroni fan, sounds like great value.
