Plus one to all the above, you'll be thanking yourself a few weeks down the line (if not now :) )

Well holidays over for this year, calf has improved and i managed 7 runs over the two weeks in France all at easy pace. Dunshaughlin 10k has been knocked on the head, have missed three weeks training and i feel i wouldn't do myself justice if i ran it. No more running goal races unless i'm fully prepared.

Running a 5k Sunday morning that i entered months back, will use it as an indicator to where i am and hopefully kick on over the summers months. Well done to all for the great racing while i was away, some really superb times ran. Time to get serious from now on. Just a quick holiday snap to show ye all my tan, vive la France!!!

    Monday 25.5.15

    5.05miles@8.43min/miles in 44min 01sec

Easy run again, nothing of note to report from it which is a good thing i suppose.

    Tuesday 26.5.15

    Rest

    Wednesday 27.5.15

    7miles@8.01min/miles in 56min 08secs

    1.5 mile w/u 4 mile progression 1.5 c/d, the idea with the progession miles was to run each one 15 secs quicker than the last at least. They worked out as follows;

    8.07, 7.46, 7.27, 7.04.

Happy with how they went, nothing overly taxing about them.

    Thursday 28.5.15

    Rest

    Friday 29.5.15

    6.05miles@7.57min/miles in 48mins 08secs(including 12x100metre strides)

Did two 100 metre strides per mile hence the faster pace, enjoyed this and was nice to get a bit of quicker running into the legs again. Since i'm giving Dunshaughlin a miss i have to decide on a goal race for the year, looking at Frank Duffy 10 mile in August as it gives me time to complete a full training programme for it. Its my favourite distance to race & will be aiming at a PB.

Cheers Anna & D, its on in Navan, not putting any pressure on myself for it. Two weeks of barbecuing in France has added a few pounds i'm afraid!!

Wasn't far off it in Dunboyne 5 miler last Tuesday!
Gonna aim for docklands 5k for it. Only have a few more weeks of enjoying shorter racing before I have to start thinking about Berlin marathon in September. Have to take advantage and nail that in the next few weeks.
Or else AK will cut my funding!!!

Heading back alright, enjoyed it last year. Yeah Fingal is on the same day, might affect the crowd size in Mullingar.
