Hutton's doing a great job with them. Think that's 5 wins, 2 draws and two defeats in the league for him with the losses coming against Pats and Cork. Eight goals for Patterson as well who Roddy left out because the team weren't creating chances. Surely the Derry job was Roddy's last in the top division.

It should be his last job anywhere, in Ireland, the UK, Europe, the world.

If that man gets another managers job then it just proves there is a lot of chairmen in the football world who know nothing.

Is Ward fully fit again then after his back problem? Deadly. Love watching him. One of the most skilful players in the league.

Yeh he played against the Army and Institute in the friendlies we played recently.
Cant get his place on the bench it seems since McDermott signed.

Great little player but id be very surprised to see him here next season, which is a shame

"I look at the other managers who left Rovers and went on to do well at other clubs and know I will bounce back.

"Liam Buckley won the FAI Cup with Sporting Fingal before winning the league at St Pat's. Damien Richardson won those two trophies with Cork City and look at the job Stephen Kenny, my predecessor, is doing with Dundalk.

Keith Ward masterclass in full flow in Oriel Park in League Cup semi final. Beautiful chip from just outside the box for Dundalk's second and set up plenty of chances as well as that. Higgins playing well too. 2-0 to Dundalk at half time.

I'm a big fan of Wardy, was disappointed when he left Bohs. He's been unlucky with injuries.

Massive gulf in quality there tonight. Hard for an amateur team to compete with that

Very true, major difference in standard between Div 1 and Prem. Not 1 of the Dundalk 11 started on Friday

Ward ran the show, Set up 2 and scored a wonderful chip

Not much shame losing to the best team in the country. And as you said, the financial gap is huge. Richie Towell getting a bigger pay packet than your whole squad.

It's been a pretty good season for the youths all things considered.

Very poor first half from Bohs there, Rovers should be a couple ahead. D

Always a pleasure to watch him in action. Man of the match this evening. He said in his post match interview that Kenny told him he could go out on loan if he wanted but he said no as he wants to stay and fight for his place. Can't see him starting too many games but he should definitely be in the matchday squad I think. Just the type of player needed to come off the bench and make the difference in a tight game.

Yeh showed his worth tonight. His goal was out of this world.
With McDermott injured (hopefully not serious) he could be close to coming off the bench Friday of the games tight

Looks like it will be Rovers in the final. Pretty strong team they put out this evening. Will be interesting to see how Kenny approaches the final. So far he's given youth and fringe players a chance in this competition but I reckon he may play a couple of the established first teamers for the final. Rossiter, Sava and Ward are definites anyway.

    Well that was interesting tv.

Was kinda rooting for Croly towards the end.

Nothing substantially different from other various lineups than McGuinness not playing, except perhaps the attitude of the players. Nevertheless, the stars are shining that bit brighter tonight.:)

Not particularly bordered about this cup (although I'd still like to win it) but a relief to finally be easily wiping teams out that you should be easily wiping out.

Friday a big game and I think a lot of people will come back if we wrap everything up before then.

Irelands number 1 fans not turning up at games because of what is going on. Just like going back to their Tolka days:D

It was a very strong line up by Rovers so your club must disagree.

Big question mark over team Kenny plays in final does he stick with the youth and fringe players or does he play a stronger team. We haven't won a trophy in 12 years but very hard to get excited about the league cup.

Not really, same players that have been very poor in the past few weeks.

6 of them who played last night 'played' against Limerick and eight of them played against Dundalk in Tallaght who won comfortably a few weeks ago (Luke Byrne was injured weeks ago or it would be nine and Zayed is gone).

We had higher attendances than you in the 1st Division

Anyway this is not about Dundalk, its about "Irelands number 1" (who havnt even been number 1 in Dublin for 2 years)

Very short memories in Dundalk. Not too long ago your fans were on here begging fans to come out and watch their games while posting links to different draws and competitions being run trying to save the club (which I actually gave money to).

Don't turn into a knob because you have a bit of success now. It doesn't last in the LOI.

Im not turning into a knob. Our club nearly went bust and the fans got together and saved the club, friendly matches organised, concerts, bag packing, indoor football tournaments etc.... I know alot of other clubs fans gave money (and I and all other Dundalk fans are very grateful for that, especially to Derry City Fans)

The point im making is Rovers fans seem to slag other teams fortunes constantly and when anyone trys to slag them back they bring out the old, sure your club cant talk ****e

Don't stoop to their level then. When you look at the league positions, you will be perceived like a knob to those who don't know about the history between posters on here. It looks like d*ck waving since your club is top of the league.
