Whinging abut the shed is pointless. It's a neutral venue not a home game so presumably the usual won't apply. Presume the ground will be (had better be) will be split between either side of the pitch as is the case in Tallaght for similar games.

You don't get the choice as far as I know, it's treated as neutral ground. It isn't or shouldn't be a home game for Dundalk with watering one half of the pitch etc.

Did Dundalk get access to Rovers bars when we were home team in Setanta cup final in Tallaght?

Don't really care about the seating arrangements to be honest. Just looking forward to what will be a cracker of a game between probably the two biggest clubs in Ireland and two of the best managers this country has produced. A chance for this magnificent Dundalk team to get their hands on some much deserved silverware. Bring it on.

There are no "Rovers bars" in Tallaght Stadium, there is some club hospitality thing which is quite different

Not a hope are Dundalk in the top 2 biggest clubs in Ireland, best team in Ireland at the moment, but lets not ignore the 10 years before Kenny.

Surprising to say the least but after previous "home" finals in Tallaght, maybe I shouldn't have been

Lets not ignore the 70's and 80's either when we were fantastic or the fifty odd trophies we've won either. Also we have won the hearts of neutrals all around the country over the years and most soccer fans in the country have a soft spot for the lovely Lilywhites.

So on that reasoning, In Rovers baron years recently, you wouldn't have said they were in the biggest club in Ireland?

The game will be run by the FAI. I'm sure they'll divide the ground in two with Dundalk getting the main stand side and Rovers getting the shed side. That's the way it's done in Tallaght for similar fixtures like Setanta Cup and EA Cup.

Either way, either set should get one side of the ground. It'll be interesting to see how it's organised with respect to segregation given there's only one exit out of the ground. It's not really a ground suited for such neutral use I would've thought. If the losing side are on the Shed side, are they kept back until they clear the Main Stand side?

Perhaps the smart thing to do is to divide the fans along the halfway line instead of lengthways.

Could do what we done with Linfield for the entrance. All buses had to come from the Carrick Road to the away entrance (extra 10/15min journey time) and the Carrick Road was closed to cars, They could make all Rovers buses + cars come in this route thus avoiding any contact with the Dundalk support.

As for half way line divide, thats a good shout

You would be hard pushed to say they were the biggest club during the Tolka years. Most successful yes. But their crowds were as bad as those that you'd slag the likes of us or Bohs over getting now.

It wasn't the renewed success that turned Rovers into the biggest club again anyway, it was the move to Tallaght and the massive change that brought the club.

Becoming huge gave Rovers the chance to be successful, rather than Rovers being huge because of current success.

No idea maybe everyone but Pats/Bohs fans can help you on this.

Not sure of how true this is but someone told me that CCFC have had 11000 more people through the gates already this season than all of last. That's pretty damn impressive. And another 5 home games to come.

Cork's attendances have been one of the major success stories of this season's league. Fair play to all involved getting the brilliant posters out and spreading the word. Obviously the fact that the team are doing well helps as well.

Strangely, that doesn't come as much of a surprise to me. We've effectively been getting between 500 and 1,000 more for each game compared to last season, and that's just for normal games. Take the two games against Shams and Dundalk alone and you've already made up almost half of that figure (11,000).

Dundalk's average attendance this season has been about 2300 up from 2000 last season. We've broken the 3000 mark twice (Shamrock Rovers and Pats). Lowest attendance was 1600 against Athlone a couple of weeks ago.

Towell wins SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player for July with Kurtis Byrne coming in second. Well deserved second award for Towell. He was brilliant for us in July in both the league and in Europe.

He's a great player. Any interest in him from abroad this window?

Ipswich, Charlton, Barnsley and Sheffield Utd have apparently all been sniffing around after him in recent months but I'd imagine he won't go anywhere until the season ends in October. Hopefully he'll stay and collect his league medal with us before heading off into the sunset.

Hard to believe Towell didn't make the grade at Hibs. Must have been struggling for fitness or something.

Think he was played at right back for the majority of his time with Hibs. He's also a lot stronger now than he was. He came back to us this season notably bigger than last year. Think he spent the winter working hard in the gym.

Guessed that, skipped over the Fai tickets and "flood" issue and how he came into the knowledge of Mbazai without much mention.
