Oh yeah and to the the people who want to demonise WWE by getting pissed that they sacked him on his wedding day......HE WALKED OUT ON THEM! He walked out before a show in January and essentially quit. Was it unprofessional of WWE to do that? Absolutely and it definitely was done to spite him but come on! He left them high and dry 6 months previously. How come people don't call him out for being unprofessional? If you aren't happy there then fine. Leave at the end of your contract or 'retire from WWE' like AJ but you have no right to take a moral highground when you were the one that left of your own free will then complain they fired you. Be a adult and do things properly and professionally or don't and take your lumps.

His level of unprofessionalism is pretty easily debatable.

As far as "leaving them high and dry", it seems by all accounts he was presented with his Mania direction, he told Vince he wasn't happy with it, he went home and Vince let him. There wasn't a big blow up, and no stories were disrupted either (he wasn't, if I remember right, doing much other than a tease during the Rumble for something with Kane). He walked out, but WWE didn't seem all that pushed to convince him to come back. At that stage, it seems as if everything was amicable between them. While it might be unprofessional to "go home", how he handled it at that stage was professional enough.

Even now, it's not like he's lambasting WWE in any hyperbolic manner; he's on twitter giving out about trolls, but for the most part, he doesn't rant on about wrestling too much. If anything, he seems to want a professional split from the wrestling industry, and its the "fans" who point blank refuse to let that happen, moaning about him on a regular basis.

He still hawks t-shirts on multiple wrestling sites, so he's clearly not afraid to take money from those same fans.

CM Punk fans, not wrestling fans in general. The people giving Punk abuse on twitter & moaning about him leaving wrestling are highly unlikely to be the same people buying his t-shirts.

Oh yeah, the twitter people harassing him are pure scum. No other words to describe them.

I'm far more inclined to believe Punk's version of events over the WWE's but it's really down to him to get over this stuff. It would be completely naive to think the solution is for thousands of other people who are bitching and moaning on twitter are going to stop first.

If you're the kind of person who can't help but reply to abusive tweets, the number getting smaller just makes it easier for you to reply to them*, which brings attention back on you and winds up sustaining the attention on you far longer than being silent would.

    * which is probably part of why he's only recently began replying to a whole load of them, I'm sure plenty of you can remember times you've been waiting for a single notification somewhere really eagerly and other times where tons have been coming in and been like "ehh... I'll leave that until later"

Why do I always feel the need to laugh hysterically when he tries to act tough?

He's a grammar nazi too? Guy becomes more dislikeable by the day.

Basically this is Dana Whites new reality show, he's already uncovered some serious UFC talent, including the undefeated 19 year old Sage Northcutt. The latest episode Dana goes to a fight in New Jersey to scout talent, and Micky Gall wins his first Pro Fight, calls out CM Punk after the fight. Certainly looks like the guy who'll now face Punk

Punk is like that message board poster everyone hates come to life. Always moaning, complaining about grammer, acting tough, insults people who disagree with him.

    He's still great though. :)

    "Uncovered" is a bit exaggerated.

Sage was a world karate champion almost all his life, state champion wrestler and a cover boy/poster child for martial arts in the USA. He was always destined for great things and would have made it anyway (maybe 6-12months later).

Saw the pilot and loved it, so thrilled there's a new episode. Will all of them be going up on Youtube?

For the purposes of the TV show Dana absolutely uncovered him..

Theres actually a rumour going around twitter than a episode could be filmed in Dublin and that Dana wants to check out some of the SBG guys at the upcoming BAMMA show in the 3 arena

The BAMMA prelims kick of at 4 so it wouldnt be a complete impossiblity.

Looks like they have found his opponent alright.

White said while appearing on TSN’s “Off the Record.” “Mickey Gall – I’m bringing in Mickey Gall in and he’s going to fight a guy named Michael Jackson. They’re going to fight on the prelims on Feb. 6 on fight pass. If he wins that fight, Mickey Gall will fight CM Punk. CM Punk will be there to watch.”

I think going with somebody so unknown is a big risk for Punk. If he were to fight somebody who doesn't win a lot but also isn't unknown, he has the excuse of lacking experience should he lose. If he loses to this guy, especially via Knockout or Tap Out, his value will plummet as his only excuse will be he wasn't good enough. What can you do with such a big name after that?

He has to fight a relative unknown - the Nevada State Athletic Commission ould not sanction a fight between a guy with a 0-0 record and anyone with significant professional MMA experience.

UFC, I imagine, are happy for this to be a one and done if he does lose and it seems like CM Punk will have achieved a personal ambition just by stepping inside the octagon - he doesn't need the money and is realistic enough to know that he won't be at the top of the game.

That guy was clever enough to bring all his friends, give them shirts and call out Punk. Isn't the whole point of this show to find an opponent for Punk?

Assuming he wins his first fght I hope Punk can at least get a win first time out.

Michael Jackson. If ever anybody needed a stage name it's him.

Where are all the clowns that said he'd never fight gone to?

Tbh he still hasn't.....even guys like Daniel Cormier were wondering if he ever would as the moment to strike when the iron was hot has kinda passed.
Robin Black summed it up well as he more or less did the same thing a few years ago

In a way it's a pity the UFC announced he was coming at all

Looking back, maybe it would have been better to just let him train and then when he seemed ready for a fight announce he's signed for x fight in 2/3 months

A lot of non wrestling fans had probably forgotten about him up until this story. Fair play to him & all that but it could have been handled better. Unpopular but I think he should have fought elsewhere as it could be embarrassing for him if he gets a pasting off a unknown & also inexperienced opponent (with all due respect)

If he fought anywhere else the novelty of Punk fighting would be gone. It's what Dana said to Punk, when Punk asked to go get some fights some where else. This will get a lot of eye balls when it does happen but the delay has taken some of the shine off it.
