    "Correct"

Bradley just asked, "Jo Durie was British number 1..." and Sinha jumped in with tennis as the answer but was ruled out of time and the team won the money.

Just watched that this evening, and I'd have bet good money that he did get the answer in in time!

Has anyone watched the australian one on Challenge?

Anne Hegarty is on the panel. Much better than the USA version

Watching the celebrity episode from the weekend..... had never heard of Scott Whatshisname before he appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, and any time I see him now all - literally all - I can see is that lobster

Anyone else get mildly irritated by Sean's habit of throwing out completely irrelevant facts about the questions/answers?

All of the others will give some pertinent fact that adds value to the answer.... Sean just comes across as showing off, his extra facts usually have nothing whatsoever to do with the correct answer.

    Grrrrrr!

I'm a big fan of Shawn

He could have came up with something better for Sally Lindsay like she is married to Steve White the drummer with the Style Council that have never had a number 1 unlike his actress wife that had a Christmas number 1. :D

An absolute shocker from the Beast all right. ;)

The contrast with this performance from the show's early days couldn't be greater...

...and nor could the contrast with this performance Down Under. ;)

Oooh, Sean (or is it Shawn???) getting a bit snarky there..... having been caught out with dodgy kindergarten maths, then didn't know why the Rising Sun was associated with Edward III.

Nor do I, but then I'm not a chaser :D

All of the others would be big enough to admit that the didn't have a clue or guessed it.

    It's actually Shaun.

The Vixen is coming out of her shell, after a shaky start.

    You what, now?

Did I hear correctly, on today's celebrity chase, that Paul Sinha had researched/set a question - which today's chaser, Mark Labett knew about?

That would strike me as being more than a little unfair on the contestants on the show - no?

Now whatever about chasers setting questions and submitting them in secret for other chasers to answer.... but Mark clearly knew about that question - "we were all waiting for it to come up".

    I'm calling shenanigans

My favourite quiz show on tv, arguably EVER! (move aside Know Your Sport).......... but my god, I always avoid The Celebrity version these days. Easier questions, chaser slower in answering and getting questions wrong he really shouldn't!

I always wonder can the celebs really be that thick (or removed from reality/currents events)?

there is the odd very decent intelligent player and they seem to set questions for the others that they are likely to know anyway, pop culture etc, surrent affairs, country locations, films, easy common sayings etc.

I just cant enjoy it when I know i am going to be able to answer 70 to 80 % of the answers easily.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,037 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

Also when the chaser pretends to or even doesnt genuinely know the answer in the Celebrity Chase he often wastes up to 6 seconds "thinking" about it............

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,037 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

For goodness sake just watching one with Shawn and it is so so obvious he isnt trying a leg/pretending not to know obvious answers.

I know its for charity but it makes a mockery of the whole concept and must be very infuriating for a set of contestants from the normal show who, say, lose by one answer with 2 seconds to go, for a pot of 40K

For goodness sake!! The Vixen couldnt answer how many are 6 dozen today!! and she took 6 seconds to think about it !!
