I do wonder is there anything that is stopping them from rolling out WWE Network internationally?

I could imagine WWE want to roll out WWE Network internationally at this point.

I do remember reading a report where it was meant to be coming to the UK at summerfest or around that time.

Will Sky be ok with the network carrying the PPVS? Because without them its the networks biggest draw gone, and lets not forget the hardcore in the Uk and Ireland probably already have the network.:P

It's been really stuttery on Chrome lately, almost powerpoint stuttery. Almost unwatchable.

Yeah. Lots of Freezing and re-starting. I hope it's a proxy thing more than a WWE Network thing. God help you if you want to watch more than one episode of Slam City as well!

They want to sort out the server bandwidth, problems; just overall smooth out the operation before rolling it out. Plus your highest chance to get people to sub is in the lead up to Mania, so it's likely a strategy as well.

    Existing domestic TV deals.

Sky paid an 3x or 4x increase renewing their current deal.

I use WWE Network quite often during the week to watch NXT, Main Event, old episodes of RAW and Smackdown and of course latest PPV's each month.

Whenever I am bored I tend to watch something random on WWE Network.

I know I won't renew after SummerSlam anyway when my 6 months are up.

I might try again around the Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania.

I'd watch it a lot more if it had the the raws and nitros to build up to the ppvs.

Especially the wcw ppvs I have never seen. I'd like to have the back story for the storylines etc.

I'd much rather them show things like wcw Saturday night from the early 90's and other wcw shows rather than ecw hardcore tv which I haven't watched one episode of.

Sky would happily have all PPVs on Sky Sports. They're only on Box Office at the insistence of WWE. Sky don't really do PPV anymore because there isn't really the market for it in UK/Ireland. Boxing is the only real PPV market over here and that is a fundamental of the sport really.

....for the TV rights. Sky is currently having to defend its position for the first serious time. WWE doesn't get great ratings but it does fill up 10hrs or more TV time per week which BT Sports would happily have snapped up.

It's been fine for me on everything i've tried it on.

I'm happy to renew. It's a tremendous service and great value.

That's my position too. I got an email from WWE yesterday asking if I'd lost my password because I hadn't logged into the Network in more than two weeks. It is true that I hadn't but I wouldn't consider cancelling. It's less than the price of two pints a month and as a wrestling fan I want to support the service.

Same as that. Im watching the PPV's chronologically and have just finished the last episode of Raw for 1998. I have all of 1999 yet so will keep the network. As you say, its a pittance for what we get imo.

I want to watch it a lot more than I do but I end up watching other stuff online instead. Like I've just started The Shield, almost done with the first season and have six more to go! There's only so many hours in the day. Still I'll keep it on for now it's not breaking the bank.

Meh, I don't believe it since that Twitter account is probably run by a fan and none of the dirtsheets have posted news relating to that tweet.

Has there been any Boards PPV rewatches since the network launches (similar to how they do it on WReddit every now and then)? Would anyone be interested?

We tried to have a old PPV video club of sorts and it was good at first but interest waned. Just not enough people have time to watch one every week

Possibly change it to fortnightly? Or the SNME ones are an hour long, much easier watch

Lost the Network recently due to non-payment via Paypal. Can't say I miss it. I never did good on my threats I made to myself a few months ago to watch everything. I'll get it again in a while no doubt.

I don't watch the network much but I have it just for the PPVs. less than a tenner a month for a ppv does me fine.

I am looking forward to The Monday Night War show that is going to debut next month on WWE Network. I think WWE will finally upload episodes of WCW Nitro and add more episodes of RAW from Attitude Era onto WWE Network next month as well due to The Monday Night War show.

I find Neville very boring as champion, they should give the belt to Tyler Breeze at next NXT special event.

The teaser was better than I expected. There was some old interview footage of Ted Turner which I had never seen or even heard of.

    Scott Steiner talks.
“Just because somebody follows you don’t mean they are going to pay for it. A lot of people are misjudging the popularity of people or characters. It’s bull****. I think they did the same thing. A lot of those wrestlers have a lot of Twitter followers, but all that combined they should be able to get $9.99 for the Network. They found out they don’t pay…When do you concede that you failed? They live in their own little box and think they are all geniuses. So when are they going to concede that they are not as smart as they think they are?”

Wholeheartedly recommend Ambrose-Del Rio from Main Event last night.

They are releasing their subscriber numbers tomorrow; as of June 30th afaik. Piece here covers some questions which ideally people will asking: http://whatculture.com/wwe/important-questions-wwe-must-answer-during-q2-call.php

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

They will probably have a slight increase in numbers from the last ones released 660k.

The first group of subscriber 6 months will becoming to an end after Summerslam that is when they will see if there is a huge drop off.

They were always expected to below expectations firstly.

Working backwards they WILL be bad as NXT talents have been told to expect releases today.
