Season tickets are one code or the other so not great for Dubs/Galway/Cork. And not valid for club games afaik.

When is PP pass up for renewal?

    Far better value.

I'm nearly sure it's April/May Bonnie - it sorta gets you out and about for the Senior Club too as you say, have even been known to wave it into a fellas face for a few Inter games too - admission prices for some of the early club championship games is a right joke

What's the damage on a ST ? .. is there a terrace/stand option like the PP

Edit .. I see on the season ticket site that ourselves and Mayo are still closed off .. no room at the inn if we're being seasonal

Yeah. It set me back 99 for myself and 20 for the wee brother who is thankfully still a juvenile for another year.

I'll never not have it as long as it exists. I'm moving to Denmark or a masters and i'll be holding on for dear life.

For anyone who goes to club championship it pays for itself. I've been at 7/8 games in Parnell so that's 70/80 Euro for a start.

I think it covers all club games, does it not? I have definitely used it at some stage in O'Toole Park. It ought to anyway, it is county board pass, not specifically Parnell.

Yeah I find it great for that spur of the moment decision to go to a game football or hurling. There was a time when (I assumed) it would only admit you to either PP or O'Toole as you say, but I've used it in a few grounds this year. I wouldn't have liked to hand over my hard earned cash to watch Ballymun give the Larriers the message up in Garristown anyways for a start

Congrats to Cuala on bridging a 36 year gap today winning the Leinster title - a semi against Slaughtneil gives them a great opportunity to advance to the final

Yes indeed. Some achievement for Cuala....and to beat the KK champs too. Pity Realt wasn't there in Portlaoise to see it, but the Laois tourist board have barred him from ever setting foot in the county again.

(No feckin' loss, sez he ! :p )

So seriously....how much do we love John Costello?

    http://uploads.dublingaa.ie/files/23/dublin_annual_report_2016.pdf

No doubt there'll be detractors, but screw 'em ! Neither he, nor we, should be ashamed to stand up for what we believe in.
Crucial to the success of our strategy are the most valuable asset of all - people. Without the thousands of volunteers in our clubs, giving up their time every night of the week and every weekend, no strategy would be possible.

Every week thousands of games are catered for in every code, at every age group, in every parish in Dublin. This does not just happen. It is a logistical challenge that no other county has to face. But it works. Week after week , because we have unbelievable buy in from every club in this county.

Our strategic plan was published. It is not the third secret of Fatima. We have people in the county who overcome huge logistical challenges every week who now have streamlined structures in place that can cope with most of the
    obstacles that come their way

    You tell 'em John !

I also liked how he was honest enough to say we seem to be lacking a bit at minor level and that he wants to put a bit more effort into improving things there.

    No resting on his laurels.

It's when you read stuff like that you have to think to yourself, why hasn't the Co Boards in Kildare, Dublin Junior and Mordor asked for help in implementing structures that will bring them on.

And if they have, why wasn't it forthcoming or was the offer of help rejected. A guy like Costello sees the merit in a strong rivalry and competition to play in, so I doubt he'd refuse giving help.

Dublin clubs have won 7 of the last 10. Vincents have won four of them.

    Split Vincent's Dermo in two

Give Whitehall his left leg & give Na Fianna his right leg. Job done. It's only fair !

Still feel that despite vins success the club champ needs an overhaul. I ain't just talking about dublin champ, 32 teams is too much and done of the results speak for themselves, but playing with no break is not good for players

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,088 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

I think it's fine the way it is.

Tweaking it to be like the inter-county set-up (for example) would create a hegemony of the same clubs CONSTANTLY wining it. The way it stands now there is a genuine sense of anyone can win it (mostly).

    Leave well enough alone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,665 ✭✭✭Bonniedog

It is some achievement to be one of top four senior clubs in country. Out of how many - 5/600?

For Vinnies to win it they would have had to won ten games!

Any opinions on who's next to break through onto the dublin team/panel in 2017 and beyond. Will o'callaghan/costello nail down starting places?are there any others close to breaking through to challenge brogan, rock, andrews etc in the full forward line?

Id like to see a few half forwards starting to make an impact to replace flynn and connolly in the next few years.
We will need a partner for fenton in midfield too.
Id imagine it'll be tough enough for anyone to make a breakthrough in the defence at the moment anyway.
Any names out there to keep an eye on in the o'byrne cup?

Colm Basquel is another fella who could push his way in as a regular sub in the forwards.

Unfortunately can't think of any defenders, or dare I say it goalkeeper!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Lorcan Molloy will get more game time. O'Callaghan might be rested depending on Cualas progress. Murchan, Basquel and Howard the best of the rest IMO

Lorcan Molloy has gone backwards in last couple years. I'd say Evan Comerford is ahead of him now.

Robbie McDaid and Shane Clayton are decent defenders who should be looking to make breakthrough next season

Should be using to league to look at Evan Comerford, Robbie McDaid, Shane Clayton, Colm Basquel, Con O'Callaghan, Niall Scully, Paddy Small, Aaran Waters, Graham Hannigan and Shane Boland. Its now or never for Emmett O'Conghaile, Conor McHugh, Gavin Burke and the 2 Shane Carthy.

Comerford is a better prospect I'd agree but maybe a year or two too soon for him

Don't want to book accommodation now and then find out cant get tickets....

    Any thoughts?

Can't think of any new names of those I've seen in SFC that stood out as potential championship panellists. Judes and Castleknock were impressive defensively at times but none of the names have stuck with me.

I'd say they more or less know the team and will have the luxury of using the O'Byrne and league to maybe test out a few players for panel positions. We could nearly name the starting 15 for the Summer lets be honest.

On related note, is there to be a Blue Stars games this New Years? Not seen anything about it.
