Its only dawning on me now that this is really happening and its only 6 days away. I have been waiting for this for what feels like an eternity i never thought it would happen.

I have to agree. I woke up this morning with a tinge of excitement for the coming days. Can't remember that feeling for any other recent fights. It's fight week!

Is there a title or something on the line or is it just for the sake of having them fight eachother?

There are belts on the line. WBA/WBO and WBC belts. Manny has the WBO belt and Floyd has the other two.

So I suppose merchant was 100% professional saying hes going to kick his ass if he was 50 years younger?

    .

He was left with no option at all. I think that was as good as he could have given back. Mayweather's attack was loud and deliberate and aggressive and bang out of order. So yes, as professional as can be in that particular situation.

This is off topic now so going to leave it there.

I'm so excited I forgot I was fighting myself. It's like the first day of school. Except I know that at lunch time I have to get into a protracted brawl with the school bully in front of hundreds of baying people.

Watched that legends promo from HBO and it was brilliant, really buzzed about the fight now. Cant wait. Still think Pacman is going to do it. Popping in and out, high volume, then move, really work Floyd, nick rds on workrate.

Speaking to a colleague in NY today and its costing him a ton to buy the fight, thankful Sky are only hitting us for 25.

One last thought, Shane Mosley sounded slightly punchy to me, hope he doesn't return to the ring.

I'll be watching the fight but I can't say I'm too excited. Haven't heard any casuals mention the fight either.

They definitely made it a few years too late unfortunately.

I can't quite figure out why that is. Anyone have any idea?

25 euro is about 27 dollars, thats a pretty big difference.

Whats peoples plans for the fight? Not sure what to do yet, probably end up ordering it in the house. Will need a few beers to stay awake but dont want to get too pissed either, its a fine line!

Not sure I want mates over drunk and annoying for this fight

I think it's mainly due to the time difference. Having to stay up till 6am to watch a fight certainly devalues the event a bit. These big fights rely on a big causal following so not many would be willing to shell out €80 for a fight at that time. That's definitely one of the reasons for it, I'm sure there's more too.

What time is the fight actually likely to start? I'm not sure if I can be bothered staying up all night even if we do plan on having a session.

It's scheduled for 8pm in Vegas (which is a little earlier than usual)

And as we are 8 hours ahead of Vegas it should be @ approx 4am

Great answer man. True, I never thought of it like that.

4 is acceptable for me. Hopefully there is no delays!

I figured an 8pm start would he too early so I was thinking 9:30pm there 5:30am here

Yeah 4 aint too bad. I've been up watching them before and the kid is getting up for the day, long day then.

Think they schedule the undercards to go the distance then fill any gaps on tv, that would make the most sense.

I can't remember now as I haven't stayed up for one in a couple of years. Floyd will probably cause delays the cretin!

Coverage starts here at 9 and the main event is scheduled after 11 which is after 4am at home.

It's costing $89.95 for standard definition and $99.95 for high definition.

Any fight fans in Gotham know anywhere decent to watch it? Dont mind paying in somewhere but bars will most likely be standing room only and want to actually see the fight!

Agree about the quality of the promos alright. Two things stood out for me on the legends speaking. Oscar saying that trying to catch Manny was like trying to swat a fly and when Hopkins stood to make a point Lennox immediately watching his stance.

That was an amazing performance when he fought Oscar that time.

I should have mentioned it earlier but 'Manny' was on Setanta tonight.

The documentary drama thing about him that's narrated by Liam Neeson.

Myself, herself, couple of lads and neighbour and her girlfriend. Usually go pub, couple of hours kip and fight. That's the plan but the closer it gets the more I'd rather just watch it myself :(

Yeah but Ariza is working with Floyd now as well as Heredia being in his camp.

That's messed up isn't it? Him being the leading PED chemist and all

That channel is amazing by the way, the guy knows boxing inside out.

Who's going to announce the fighters names in the ring? Michael Buffer or Jimmy Lennon jr?
