    225-7 total. Brilliant stuff

    An uncomfortable start I'd say.

And that's a badly needed wicket by Dockrell.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,516 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Good man Dockrell, badly needed that

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,516 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    2nd wicket, Dockrell again

They'll need a few wickets, but the boundaries should dry up after the power play, hopefully.

Great over this, Cusack on a hat trick

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,572 ✭✭✭pajor

And another wicket by Cusack. 76-3 now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,572 ✭✭✭pajor

    I'll keep quiet now. :pac:

Catching has been utter muck today. Sorensen and Shannon have both had awful drops, and that first one that Shannon didnt take, although hit hard to him, probably should have done better also.

    Getting into tail now. 129-7

Maybe he'd stay on as a batsman :)

Ireland win by 68 runs, another trophy in the bag. That puts us in the Zimbabwe group at the final as well

    Very well done guys

They really did step up to the mark with the bowling when it was needed.

Fair dues to them, consistent results. Knocking on the door a good while now. Will anyone open it?

Ireland group for 1st round of World Cup

    Zimbabwe
    Ireland
    UAE
    Holland

If we win the group we'll be in a group with England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and South Africa in the super 10 stage

not to put the mockers on it, but that's entirely winnable.

It is, but it will be interesting to see if Tom Cooper and more importantly RTD play for Netherlands, as the latter is a serious game changer.

We'll need to hit the ground running at the finals. Zimbabwe first game. It will be exactly 7 years to day of our famous win over Pakistan in the ODI World Cup, I believe some other celebration happens on the day too :pac:

    17 Mar Ireland v Zimbabwe
    19 Mar Ireland v UAE
    21 Mar Ireland v Netherlands

It's also 7 years and two days since the tie with Zim in the same World Cup, a match we really should have won - a catch was dropped over the boundary, costing us six runs.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story hey. We were all but out of the game only for insanely good death bowling. Yeah we could have won the game but we could and should have lost it.

But we lost fewer wickets too! :)
