Congratulations :) The dole people will probably approve your claim after you start work and then you will have loads of dole money to spend :)

What car might you be getting?

And I have the trauma of the work Christmas party this evening :(

thanks. They probably will, although loads and dole arent normally featured in the same sentence!

Dunno, I have a hankering for something fun I'd love an s2000 but they are holding their value really well.

Christmas parties are fun, get pissed and abuse everybody!

FFS... idiots out in force today. First thing in the morning I get some guy swearing at me with every name under the sun because I beeped him. The reason why? We were sitting at a traffic light with a sensor, and he was behind the path of the sensor. Sat there for 2 changes before he moved.

Don't even get me started on the people who love to fill yellow boxes. FFS. I just want to see the gardai fine these people so bad.

does anyone have a definitive answer on the whole vrt rebate thing on exporting back to UK?
Im coming up with cars similar to mine for sale for much more and i also want to throw in the possibility i could have exported the car as higher engined cars are worth more in the UK and if i can know for sure about the vrt rebate it would be handy

First 500 of the rebate is forfeited as an admin fee.
Revenue must have a omsp value greater than 2k to qualify for the rebate.

    Calculator is here:

I can just picture the academic guy on the other end of the phone.
Before you do it however, find out what the equivalent model in the uk is going for. No point saying I could have got 750 vrt refund selling it to the uk, if you'd get 1k more selling it here.

    Revenge is sweet smokey.

The last few weeks some plank on a bike has been piddlin' me off no end every evening on the commute home. Never noticed him before but come across him almost every evening now, must have got a new job recently or something. Anyhow, he's the typical urban cyclist: wont get out of your way, refuses to use cycle lanes, goes straight through traffic lights or on busier junctions sits at the top of the queue in front of your car - you know the type, we've all cursed at him or others like him at some stage. Well this evening I had enough.

Now in the last year we've downgraded from two petrol guzzling V8's to an I6 petrol and a 5-Pot Daysul. A daysul, being a daysul is gonna be a bit more smokey than a petrol but when ya lay down the power on this baby from a standstill, or close to, it bellows smoke like an industrial revolution chimney.

Anyhow, I digress. My commute home is 13km and for the 'nth time I've been stuck behind, passed and obstructed by this plank for most of it so I finally decided to give him some 'Daysul Therapy'. Yep, at my one-and-only opportunity to pass the cvnt on a 13 km drive home I gently slipped bast the bastard and fookin' planted it. Looked in the rear-view seconds later and to be honest I couldn't see sh1t behind me if it was luminous!

    Big Smoker, 1 - Bi-cyclist 0.

(Fvck it, there has to be one advantage to driving a daysul!)

Ah smokin' out cyclists or drivers. (or anyone being a cVnt) :P

The pleasure of driving a sh!tbox with a turned up fuel pump is not often matched! (Apologies to anyone stuck behind me at a long hill today btw...)

Yeah, the whole nine yards: lycra shorts, branded jersey and a backpack - cycling home from work, the dope.

The export price will get you nowhere. Insurance company is only interested in what you would get an equivalent car for locally.
Its surely a viable option though and once its viable it at least provides me with another avenue to force through my argument?
