So you drove for nearly three years with no tax?

God no I taxed it when I bought it during the summer.
What I was saying was that the fact it'd not been taxed by the previous owner/owners didn't put me off buying the car.
The fact that it didn't have any service history didn't put me off buying the car.
What made me buy the car?
    1. It was for sale by someone who is well regarded by alfa enthusiasts in this country
    2. The way it drive and handled.

I tried a little handbrake action in the GTI last winter. I've never seen or heard so many lights and alarms in a car.

I turned off the traction control first :p

Otherwise it doesnt allow handbrake and powahh;)
I just get a resigned beep!

Oh I turned off the ESP (Traction control is tied into the stability program), made no difference.

    Bloody german overlords!

The Italians obviously dont give a ****.

How much ncb do you have as most companies dont count after 5 years

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,978 ✭✭✭✭dgt

Handbrakes? Pffffft..... A set of mauldy tyres, traction controll off, clutch kicking and an empty crossroads/industrial estate is where its at :p not diffin :pac:

Ardennes, cars a cat c? Don't do it seriously. I've had to repair crashed cars before, a pain in the arse..... Find something else.

About the only free time I have this week! While everyone else was prob inside all nice and toasty, I was outside welding a van till about 12 am..... Now that was a little bit cold, unlike the other wimpy wimps complaining that a miserable 7 degrees was cold earlier this year :p

My motto of the week is asking people if they have a club card.... Well do any of you lot have one? :p

Almost taken out by a white coach about 15 minutes ago, Was on East wall road heading towards the O2, I was third in line waiting for the filter light to turn right, lights change and we all start driving. Then suddenly from my right a Coach is heading towards me at full speed, I hit the accelerator and he misses me by less than a meter. There was no excuse for this, the lights had changed a while and it is obvious that the bus just broke a red light, very dangerous, closest I have been to death. Here is a map to illustrate. The X is where the bus almost crashed into me.

Yeah, well 50kmh to be exact, when someone makes a mistake they usually start to slow down, a second slower and I would be jam. I take this road almost everyday, there is just so much wrong with what happened I cant get my head around what the coach driver was thinking.
