Only if you're not used to it, give it time and it's perfect.

Don't think I'll ever be buying a car with that set up anyway so won't worry about it:)

My RX8 was a jap import so it had the indicator on the right and wipers on the left. What really annoyed me was when my dad would drive it, the windscreen would be fine apart from a few bugs but he'd then put on the wipers instead of indicating and that smeared ****e all over the windscreen that you wouldn't otherwise see!

i just down right wont let anyone else drive a car i own for these pet peeve reasons !

Yeah, I'm not sure if it would pick it given it's only happening at high RPM under WOT.

I'm hoping to do a valve cleaning over the XMas break so I might just swap them around then and see if it makes a difference. Damn annoying though.

Sounds a tricky one to diagnose alright.

I never used the output tests on injectors before but it might be worth giving it a go, they look tricky to swap. It says in the manual that it clicks the solenoids at a high frequency 4 or 5 times so you might hear a difference between them.

I'm too easily distracted though. Whatever I buy anyway will be sold 6-8 months afterwards, with me taking the hit on depreciation of course!

I told you, once I bring myself to part with the e60 I'll start looking around more seriously.I hate going to look at cars without the cash in my pocket.

    I'd say that'll go like stink:D

Has anyone in the world ever changed from a 325i to a colt before I wonder:pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,234 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

I doubt very many people have no! I should be able to pick it up for 3500, got 2year nct today, sounds very well minded they sent me an email with all the order emails for various parts they have bought, gets 40mpg taking it easy and a simple remap takes it to 190brake. And rare which I like.
    I know it's a colt, I know I had a 325ci but I honestly don't give a crap once it's fun.

You should take a look at this, it is even lpg'd for better fuel economy.

    Drool, that is all.!

Na not yet, still without a courtesy car or anything! Waiting for her to state which policy she wants to claim off basically, her husbands who she was a named driver on of the corolla or her own which is on another car

You dont have to tell me, half the reason I bought my last 2 cars is you rarely see another one.
Just claim off your own and let the ins company deal with it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,234 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

I'm not under huge pressure for a car right now and the fact she accepted liability straight away makes me wanna wait a little longer.
Had to make a statement yesterday..that was fun...not!

I wouldn't allow her to slow it down like this as it will not be her "choice"; if she is covered both as a named driver and under "other cars extension" then both policies will be in play unless one excludes it. It certainly won't be a matter of her choosing.

dont worry im hassling them to hell! today is the first day i didnt ring, im looking forward to tearing into them tomorrow :)
axa say they cant proceed cos if its going to be claimed off her other policy with someone else theres no point. i think axa are waiting for her to confirm she actually had open driving

That's the odd thing, because nothing is electrically is faulty / broken to get this to cough up an error so it's definitely seems to be a mechanical issue - of course though, the pump was tested and is performing normally as expected but when being started, it does feel like a big air gap and then a flood of fuel hits then engine and she's off (and then no issues when driving, no cut outs or loss of power). It's like a dry cough for 3 seconds and then the diesel arrives. Can't imagine the air locks I could have with having to prime the pump on top of this issue.

Sticking to at least 50% fuel from Texaco only as well to narrow it all down and make it easier for it to start. Am I right in saying the car wouldn't go anywhere if the fuel pump wasn't working as described, would it cut out if that was the issue?
At last - the issue finally sorted in the C5 today! Talked to one of boards finest members @Row who gave me endless information on what the issue could be (including mechanically schematics, guides and a full list of every aspect my exact car). Enjoy those few pints!

His advice was fuel lines and rail sensor...

The fix was the fuel lines and rail sensor :)

Can't thank you enough sir as well as CarDock who did the work for me (the missus uncle runs it) and charged me pittance. ECU was getting all sorts of readings from the air leak and dodgy sensor so didn't know when to kick in, starts perfectly now. So glad it wasn't the HP pump, cost me €50 for a donor fuel rail sensor and lines from a C5 being broke.

    Happy man here! :)

bit the bullet. glanza is finally getting a new alarm fitted on thursday morning and i can finally sleep easy. i was toying between a ground anchoring system in the driveway but a good alarm system worked out cheaper and hopefully better. got everything i wanted bar remote start which is a little disappointing, but still.

Still trying to figure out what to get to replace my aclass next year. I was looking at w204 Merc cclasses (saloon) but now thinking about 3 series bmw e92 coupes. The mercs are nice but they're missing on specs compared to the bmw. There's a hell of a difference between pre and post 08 prices on the BMWs.
