Still trying to figure out what to get to replace my aclass next year. I was looking at w204 Merc cclasses (saloon) but now thinking about 3 series bmw e92 coupes. The mercs are nice but they're missing on specs compared to the bmw. There's a hell of a difference between pre and post 08 prices on the BMWs.

Or dont bother with either merc or BMW and get a jag / something half decent !

Tax would be a bit too high for my tastes on a nice Jag and I wouldn't drive an X type.

    Yeah, BM's and Merc's just aren't decent...

If it was the one thing putting me off a BMW is that they're everywhere, both the 3 and 5 series of new and older generations are fairly common cars on Irish roads.

If I had to it would be an E32 though. Classy motor.

I'm not interested because of the hype, moreso because they fit the bill. I've been looking for a nice coupe for a while. It has to be manual and petrol. Also helpful if it worked easily for myself and my wife. The electronic seat settings on the BMW would be damn handy too.

I was originally looking at W124 merc coupes but it's hard to find a nice one that hasn't been fecked with and doesn't have problems. So I figured a newer coupe would be better.

The w204 merc saloon drew my eye as its a nice looking car and a good size for my needs.

True. I quite like the red too but apparently it has paint issues.

I'm all for the poster of the year awards. They're good for a laugh, if anyone doesn't want to be involved they can PM a mod and we could have a list of those not in the running. :)

In other news, I polished my steering wheel tonight, put it back on the car and if course I had to go around the block in it... To make sure it still worked like. :pac:

I've always loved MX5's, ever since first playing GT1, I've become a bit obsessed lately though.
They're (to me) the best cars ever! :o

One thing that bugs the hell out of me is, why don't people wear seatbelts?? Just after hearing that a girl from down my way is in a bad way from a car crash down in wexford a while ago, and low and behold, she sustained the worst injuries out of them all, and she wasn't wearing a seatbelt, I honestly cannot comprehend not wearing one, If i'm only going around a carpark, like pulling off and i don't have it on, or about to put it on, i feel incredibly unsafe!

    Rant over

Very stupid position to put yourself into. The mind really does boggle…

It's hard to believe people still go around without wearing a seat belt. I normally just get in turn on the ignition put on my belt then start the car. Tbh I dont even think about it just an automatic thing I do when I get into a car. And even if I didn't the warning light would flash and constantly beep until I put it on. Takes only a few seconds to do.

I'm the same as you guys, it's practically the first thing i do like, I just can't get around why someone thinks it's a good idea not to wear it, even if there was no crash
